"Modern and quirky at the same time"
Location in Queens Quarter very peaceful. Building appears to be shared with other organizations, poss incl the nearby university, for seminars, conferences, etc. Directions to the main staircase included turning left at the bar in one of the conference areas! Room very comfortable. Ditto foyer, with complimentary copies of the Irish Times. Breakfast superb. Staff could not have been friendlier or readier to go the extra mile.
"City centre "
Great for couples, family or business. I used to live in Belfast and have had work meetings here before which have always been well catered for. This was my first stay and the room was lovely. You are very central to train, city, Queens University and more. The hotels downstairs area is lovely during the day for coffee or drinks and always had people coming and going. I never realised they had such great parking facilities which is hard to find in the city. We came back from a day trip and there was a band playing downstairs which was very nice. Worried we would here the bars from our room but we never heard a thing. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Belfast.
The Hotel has become incredibly tired and worn. Furthermore the level of cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Good service could have mitigated this however.. but it also was very poor. We returned after an event to have a drink with the after party. As residents we attempted to order a drink to be told that the room card was not sufficient without the white card holder. Went to reception to be told that a replacement white holder wasn't possible as 'everything was locked away'. Went to room to retrieve card. Returned to bar to be told that the residents bar would not be opening for another 20 minutes. At that stage we gave up. Shame used to be a solid hotel.
"Stay clear if your budget allows"
Not impressed with this one! Rooms are very dated with mattress springs coming through and making sleep very uncomfortable. Room window would not close properly so had to try and fall asleep to the sounds of Belfast City Centre. My starter still had the plastic from the cooked meats buried into the dish which i only found once i had taken a bite. Need I say more. Plenty of other hotels in the city.
Not much to say about the establishment. Local hotel outside the city center(10' walk / Uber 4-5£) next to Queens university. Stayed here for a night. Defo wouldn't stay here again. The staff are really polite and helpful. The room is spotlessly clean....but dated deco...old furniture...hard rock mattress...old wall to wall carpet that you don't want to step to...not enough plugs in the room - non next to bed....odd tele! somehow you couldn't see the whole picture but it was like looking through a magnifying glass, really odd...bathroom is brand new but still in a cheap quality...standard good breakfast... not sure how people give 5/5 to this hotel.
