"Disappointed our room didn't look like images online and it had a musty smell."
The hotel was in a good location and was an affordable price but it looked a little shabby from the outside as well as in the lobby (old carpet and musty smell) and we were immediately disappointed that our room looked nothing like the photos on their website or hotels.com. It was very basic, not updated in a long time, had a tiny window with a view of the roof and smelled like they'd had a major water leak that was never cleaned up (similar to the lobby but much worse - old, mildewy and like the carpet needed to be tossed). We only stayed for one night so it wasn't worth complaining about or asking for a different room but I definitely wouldn't have wanted to stay there for another night. The staff was friendly enough and we ended up not having to pay for parking since the gate was always open and we could easily walk to everything we wanted to see. The walk to the Titanic Museum was a bit far but manageable. Overall I would probably look for other hotel options, even if they are a bit higher in price, or would at least liked to have realized ahead of time what we were getting for the budgeted price, though the smell was hard to get past even for a good price.
"average belfast hotel"
located near a college. area is pretty nice with plenty of trees around. it got pretty loud at night as, what i'm assuming, clubs closed and people loudly made their way back home. 3-star review as the hotel, rooms & staff were just average.
"It is a good hotel, but a bit overpriced"
Nice area, a bit of a walk from the centre though. Nice enough room, but just seemed a bit expensive for what it was. The staff were nice. There are a couple of dining and pub options nearby and a Centra mini-market opposite the road which is convenient.
First the not so good: - the bar isn't brilliantly stocked but it is tolerable and reasonably well priced for a hotel. - the restaurant is lacking in vegetarian food, but there are a lot of eateries closer by that serve cheaper and more diverse options. Now the good: - great location next to the museum, bus 8 and only 20 to 25 minutes walk into town. I also walked back from the Falls Road area and that was only about 35 minutes or so. - lovely staff - clean - nice rooms - quiet - comfortable bed - great value Would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I stayed in the Wellington Park last week-long.It was a truly joyful and happy experience. We are in our seventies and the welcome, care and attention we received from Mr John Mooney and his staff ,all of whom were young, rejuvenated us.We had dinner in the lounge on the Friday night with 6 friends. The menu was not extensive but the food was delicious and the two young waitresses were patient and efficient.Four of our friends were well travelled Americans and coniseurs of food and wine. All their requirements were catered for to their delight. Thank you to everybody. We will ALL return.
