"Great weekend getaway!"
Stayed here for my 4th wedding anniversary and loved the historical aspect of this hotel. It is within walking distance of many attractions and shopping streets. Hotel is massive and gorgeous. Quebec City is wonderful and beautiful and lots of great food available.
"Christmas in Quebec"
My family and I stayed over Christmas. The location was fantastic and the hotel was very well decorated for the holiday. We had two rooms one renovated and quite spacious while the other was not renovated and was much smaller. During our stay we were very disappointed with our food and beverage service. On Christmas Day we were rushed through our meal while the hotel staff worked around our table breaking down tables around us and the buffet. The other discouraging experience was our in room dinning. The service took over the hour we were quoted and when the food arrived it was cold and none of it tasted good. Overall the money we spent at the Fairmont wasn't worth the value. During my stay at other hotels such as the Le Meridien over Christmas my family had holiday gifts (i.e. Christmas themed basket filled with santa slippers, christmas cookies and other items) delivered to each room and the gesture left positive lasting memories that I hoped we'd experience at Le Chateau Frontenac. I'm disheartened we did not have that same warm sentiments after our first stay at a Fairmont hotel.
"Grandeur and Luxury"
This was our third visit to this hotel. It remains a world icon. The rooms have been beautifully renovated. The service was excellent. The views and decoration were supreme. This is a must visit once in a lifetime. The only suggestion is that we couldn't find a casual place to eat in the evening with the kids in house. All the establishments seemed to be oriented towards an older crowd. Forcing us to get room service almost every evening. Perhaps the breakfast restaurant should be open all day.
Dont think about it twice! This is the place to stay in Quebec! In old Quebec in a castle, a Fairmont.., what else can you get' Right outside the hotel you are right at old Quebec. You can take a funiculaire to go to the port, or rent a snow slide.
"Awesome hotel on the Saint Lawrence!"
One of the best hotels I've stayed at, in one of the oldest city with so much history and beauty! Highly recommend for family or couples and or solo. Sits on the Saint Lawrence river with incredible views. I went in January and I felt I was in a winter wonderland, such a magical city. The hotel Frontenac was simply amazing! I highly recommend staying at this hotel, it will not disappoint! Merci , for a wonderful week!
