"Original and spacious room"
I booked the hotel as it had a great price (150€ for 3 nights) and it looked really original. Its situated a couple of streets up from the promenade and is a short walk into the centre. The room was very spacious and had a nice wee terrace to take some winter sun. The shower is great...a glass box suspended over the room and a hot powerful shower. The design is very "hip and modern" and not unattractive, But it has a bit of a cold feel and its not really a room for relaxing in which i liked to do. Its missing basics like a table or unit to throw your bits and pieces and there is no chairs or tea and coffee facilities...its a bit basic. There was no soundproofing of the pipes so everytime the neighour flushed the loo it was pretty loud! When i checked in the recepcionist only spoke french so i wasnt given any details about the hotel or the services it offered. Wasnt a bad experience, given how expensive Nice I guess it was good value for money.
"Hot at the Hi!"
The Hi is a great hotel complete with quirky design and some totally bonkers rooms. It is sometime since I last stayed there and we stopped doing so because the rooms were very hot. Nothing has changed, it was 25C outside and even hotter inside because it was November so the heating was on! Despite the heat I would recommend staying at the Hi if you are a fan of modern design with individual rooms which offer a unique experience quite different from the bland corporate offering from the chain hotels but if you don't like your toilet up some stairs in a Perspex box probably best to stick with the bland!
"Funky Hotel lovely Staff"
Stayed here for 2 nights a really different hotel to my usual , but it was a lovely experience and the decor is really Funky, Hotel receptionist Ayako needs a special mention a really gracious person and a credit to your hotel thank you we will return!!
"The place to be"
Very nice boutique hotel close to the promenade, amazing roof top terrace with pool, competent reception and friendly staff, unusual room design but with all features you need. Top location is rounding this reasonable priced hotel up. Strongly recommend it!!!
"Avenue des Fleurs"
The location of the hotel was quite fair. It was approximately 400 meters from the beach. The room was not that small, but because of the very strange fit out of the furniture it was pretty uncomfortable. The toilet was separated from the corner of the room and though it was frustratingly small, even the door of it opened towards inside. Even though I am a sportsman, it was almost impossible to get out of it. The shower was also in the room separated with a plexiglass from the bed. It is again a strange feeling to have a shower in front of your partner when he/she is watching TV. There were no real wardrobes in the room, so it was no real possibility to put away our clothes. There were no soap holder neither around the shower nor around the sink. The employees were kind and helpful, but the management was really inflexible. We informed them 3 days before our arrival that unexpectedly we will need to leave 1 day earlier. It's not that we keep playing this game, but it was never a problem so far in other hotels in Italy for example, but here the management insisted that we need to pay for the accommodation when leaving earlier. After asking them for a little help as a compensation they offered a voucher valid for 6 months or a full day beach entry. Knowing our room we did not plan to return here in 6 months, so we chose the beach entry in the price of 17€/person...! What can I say' Not a too generous offer!
