"One of my favorites!"
I cannot say enough good things about the Opus! It is a shame we only stayed there for one night, but it was the perfect environment to get some rest from our long flights and get ready for a long drive on the next day. The staff was very kind and lots of fun, incredibly helpful, even with our crazy big bags! The room was beautiful, clean and had an amazing view of the street. It was the perfect place for our first day in Canada. Overall very modernish and fancy, feels like a movie set! Be sure to have breakfast at the hotel, the food was amazing and it was quiet and relaxing. We got there very easily with the subway, even with bags! The location is perfect! I would definitely stay here again!
"Very nice...was anxious due to some reviews but so far all is perfect."
We switched from the four seasons to the Opus as we wanted to be in the Yaletown area but after reading some of the reviews here on trip-advisor we were at little nervous about noise, room size, bathroom glass walls, water pressure, and drawer space. Well we have had none of those issues. We are currently staying at the hotel and so far the place is almost perfect. The room (executive suite) is on the smaller size but perfect for two people. The layout is very comfortable, and the bathroom is great, no glass wall issue at all, as the bathroom, along with all the other windows have shears, a daytime shade and a blackout shade for all levels of privacy. The water pressure in the rainfall shower is GREAT, my wife loves the spa quality bath products. The general manager sent up a bottle of wine (not 2-buck chuck either) and some sweets when we arrived, the entire staff is very helpful and the hotel lobby area is comfortable. When we arrived the room was not ready as we're early, but we left our luggage with the front desk, went and had lunch and when we returned our luggage was in the room and our keys were waiting on us. Beds are very comfortable. The hotel is in a great location with more places to eat, drink and people watch then you can visit in a 4 day trip. Now for the one negative item - the area while full of places to eat and drink also stay open what seems like all night, and as we all know the more people drink the LOUDER they get, and it seems folks in Vancouver like to drink, as the street noise will prevent you from sleeping with the windows open unless you enjoy the sounds of late night ( 3:30 AM) party goers. But so far a great trip in what seems like a fantastic city, at a Great boutique hotel.
"Great hotel for small business meeting"
We found the staff service to be excellent throughout our short stay. The Opus staff, especially Emma, were attentive about ensuring our hotel rooms and meeting rooms were up to our expectations. The rooms were clean, the meeting room was set up and staff stayed up on keeping the room clean and addressing any audio visual issues. The hotel lunch staff were excellent and got us in and out for lunch. The food was very good. The mixologists at the bar (they are more than mere bartenders) were great to converse with and make the best drinks. Overall our meeting attendees were extremely happy with the accommodations and location. We thank you for a great experience.
The Opus is a smaller boutique hotel and very very nice. My room was excellent. It was quiet, clean, and well appointed. I overlooked the main street but with the doors closed never heard any traffic what so ever. Staff were really friendly. Each room has a tablet for your use. I would stay there again.
"Fun hotel; some problems"
Hotel staff are friendly and kind. The hotel was very cute - but there were a whole bunch of things that went wrong during our stay: Most annoyingly, we had an item of clothing go missing from our room. We suspected it got picked up with the laundry but the hotel did not find it. The staff did not seem that concerned about the fact that it went missing, or finding it... The toilet in our room overflowed. The towels were not changed every day. The free bikes are a fantastic idea... but they are not well maintained - so both my husband and I both (on separate days) had an issue where we were stranded somewhere in Vancouver with a broken bike on our hands. It's a cute hotel in an amazing location... but our stay left a lot to be desired.
