"Great location, small friendly hotel."
This hotel was brand new when I lived in Vancouver many years ago, and was the hottest spot in town. It has cooled off since then and is now a boutique (small) hotel in a great area of Vancouver; Yaletown. It is a hike to many of the tourist attractions like Stanley Park, North Shore or the beaches but is near many fab restaurants and bars and close to the sea wall where you can hire a bike or take a water taxi to Granville Island. For business it was perfect although I likely would not recommend the hotel for families as there are no facilities (pool). The breakfast is simple and the bar seems like an afterthought......a room between the reception and the restaurant that doesn't have any flow, design or atmosphere. The service though, is amazing. Without exception the staff were perfect. From the check in to the infectiously positive young lady that served breakfast; all the staff were kind, efficient, friendly and eager to help. Could not fault them.
"Great hotel, location and staff"
The Opus is a great hotel to stay at; perfect location if you take the train from YVR. Great neighborhood with tons of fun and friendly restaurants to eat at nearby. You can talk to the water, walk to BC Place, walk to Granville St or even Gastown. I would highly recommend. Only thing, if you stay on the higher floors, wish they had blackout curtains because the sun peeped through the slats in the roll down shades starting at about 4-5am.
"Perfect Weekend Getaway spot."
Spent the weekend in Vancouver just for a quick getaway with my husband and the Opus hotel was a wonderful choice The pro's of this hotel are many, the location is perfect. There is plenty of dining options just steps outside the door, both high end and quick bite, including full grocery if needed. There are two dog parks within easy walking distance and lots of parks to walk around at the False Creek waterfront. Also walking distance to the stadium's should that be something you're interested in. The staff was entirely helpful and friendly without seeming fake or pretentious. Valet parking was quick to respond with the car. We brought our dog and they were very dog friendly. Welcoming him with a dog toy and treat in the room, plus water and food dishes. The staff treated him well. We never felt like he was a problem for them. The room we were in was the top floor with a small balcony and a nice view of the city. At night it could get a little loud with the balcony door open as there was a lot of street noise from the diners. But, we would still recommend this room. The room itself was nicely appointed, it was bright and modern with plenty of space for a couple. The bed was comfortable, the bedding were quality linens, both clean and fresh. The bathroom was modern and wasn't cramped. The window in the bathroom wall reminded me of the Hotel !000 in Seattle. Only downside to the hotel, the noise in the hall is easily heard in the room through the door. This was a minor issue. Just a wonderful experience and I'd highly recommend this hotel. If you select it, you won't be disappointed.
"Phenomenal!!! Night before wedding and wedding night"
We stayed here the night before my wedding and also my wedding night. It was one of the best decisions! The staff were very helpful and friendly and there were a lot of little extra touches that made the stay special - welcoming drink, in the room little treats, handwritten welcoming notes, and no problem at all when we needed a lot of glasses and ice. They also turned around the room very quickly after we got ready, when we stepped out for our wedding photos. Just fantastic all around! I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy our room (executive suite)!
"Vancouver... City that has it all!"
So... I was in town for a day and wished I could have stayed for a month. The rooms at Opus were well planned and cozy. Trendy yet comforting. The boutique feel of Opus was just perfect and I felt like a welcomed guest and not just a number. I am longing for a trip back to Opus and that great city. The staff was WONDERFUL... from front desk to the Toby in the concierge who spent copious amounts of time helping me formulate the next leg of my journey. Vancouver is a place to visit and Opus is the place to stay.
