This is a very nice JW Marriott with many restaurants near by and with the property. The rooms are big and comfortable just like any other JW Marriott. The staff here are extremely nice, accommodating and helpful.
"Every bit its category 9 Marriott ranking"
We stayed at JW Marriott Hong Kong for 6 days. We had a harbor view room and access to the executive lounge. The room was nice with quite a large bathroom. I thought the option of allowing you to choose a customized pillow was a nice touch; you can choose from a contoured, bamboo, or feathered pillow among the many other choices. The lounge was great, the breakfast buffet offered many tasty options; Chinese congee and breads, western breakfast pastries, fruit, and juices and coffee. We didn't make it for cocktail and hors d'œuvre hour though as we were out during that time. The hotel is located very conveniently to the Admiralty MTR subway station, and to Pacific Place mall which is connected to Queensway plaza/ Lab concept. When we were still adapting to the time change and waking up at 5 am, we had breakfast at the lounge and then went exploring at the malls. It's a nice walk. We ended up frequenting the Man Ho Chinese restaurant on their ground floor. The food was exquisite. They have everything from sweet and sour pork to Peking duck, and things I don't know the name of but tasted so good. Their dessert of fried milk in taro pastry with a mango fruit juice shot was amazing. We also went a few times to their JW cafe on the 5th floor for their lunch buffet. The food was delicious. The steamed garlic prawn is fantastic. Their sushi bar has a great variety, and the dessert station an innovative smorgasbord of sweets. We enjoyed thoroughly our stay at JW Marriott and would stay here again in a minute and recommend anyone coming to Hong Kong to stay here!
Ideally located atop a deluxe mall and transport links, the JW rarely failed to impress. On point staff, spotless and majestic public areas and excellent onsite dining options made my all-too-brief stay a pleasure. Local traffic can be quite heavy, and the MTR is very straightforward, so consider that in planning. One tiny niggle re. ventilation - the room somehow smelt stale, and nothing could shift it. Notwithstanding, the room itself was spotless and a wonderful view of the harbour, even from relatively low floors.
Great hotel and wonderful experience. I agree with one of the other reviewers who asked why US Marriott's can't be as beautiful and customer-centric. I decided to spend the extra money and use the hotel's car service to pick us up from Hong Kong airport (after a 16 hour flight), and I was not disappointed - best money spent! We are gold members and had access to the Concierge level, which was small but well stocked. We likely won't return to Hong Kong anytime soon, but would definitely stay at this hotel if we were to return.
"Could've been better"
The hotel is very nice and spacious, until you get into your room. The rooms tend to be quite small and have little to no room to walk around. The view is very nice, but this is expected of a 5 star hotel. It is very convenient that at LG there is a mall which has everything the hotel doesn't have to offer. Where you eat (33-34th floor) is quite tedious especially in the morning. You have to climb the stairs a couple of times unless you load yourself with food on multiple plates. Food is only served on the 33rd floor and is quite cramped. The way they give the food is also strange, cereal with a small spoon, chips with another small spoon making the whole process very slow. The food however is usually of great quality, the only problem I encountered was the hardness of the croissants at times, and the smallness of the pain au chocolate. All in all, you could find a better hotel for potentially a cheaper price.
