"Another good Starwood group hotel"
Great location, close to Market St and all the SF shops. Room was above average but all the usual Starwood group amenities which is nice (including the heavenly bed). Bathroom could do with a bit of an upgrade though.
"Refurb time at the Westin"
Looks deceive when you first check in. Starwood have spent 0.5mm flashing up the check in experience. Modern and fresh, you think... Ok... This is a decent hotel. Once you have your room key, if you have a hot tub, it's time to then jump in. You are about to enter the long cherished, but best left far behind, world of 1980's hotel experience. Do you like dark wood and brass... Great! Have a taste for brown carpets... Hmmm! Like massively expensive expensive, poor quality hotel restaurant... Yes please! Loud, pumping eighties lobby Muzak... Mmm mmm! This place has a hot, central location. But Westin, for the love of god, close this place, spend the money you have to spend on renovations, then get back in the hospitality business that you are so good at. You are hurting your brand with this place. I will be asking our sourcing team to take you off our approved hotel list.
"Great location, comfortable bed and bathroom, but bad check in experience"
First off, great location. But when we walked in, so, so lobby. We stayed in a double queen room over the last weekend. Comfortable bed, clean room and nice faucets in the bathroom. However, the check in process is disappointing. The gentleman who checked us in handed back my credit card in one hand, while still looking down at his computer screen and not saying a word. I guess he was waiting for me to retrieve my card. Great attitude....the whole check-in crew, especially this gentleman, needs re-training. pronto.
This is one of my favorite hotels in SF. I have always had great service here and great room. The staff are solid, consistent, and dependable. For some time, the hotel was out of reach on our work travel planner due to cost, but so glad that it still shows up. I'm excited to learn about the new name and theme of the hotel. The only downside as a business traveler has been the high cost of the breakfast that exceeds the generous amount allowable. It's no worries, I either go to La Boulange and have their amazing croissant breakfast sandwich, the W hotel and have chilaquiles, or a generous breakfast at The Grove!
I booked this room for a one night stay this past weekend with my boyfriend for our anniversary.. I booked solely off trip advisor reviews and pics also Google....I called in instead of booking online to ensure that I got the room and view I wanted I requested a premier corner king room I requested I be put facing the water I heard about the views of the bridge an Alcatraz which I thought my boyfriend would love...when we arrived overnight parking was $53 a night.....we were checked in my card was charged and we went up to our sardine can I mean room the room was smaller than my bed room it wasnt a corner room the ceilings were so low I felt claustrophobic our view was between buildings but all in all the decor was nice the bathroom was tiny why book a room for 2 adults and amenities for only one smh...The location is central easy to get around alot of shopping and food...the next morning before checking out my card was charged $150 which I was unaware of I had to call front desk to find out it was a refundable cleaning fee... Loved the 1pm late check out but no one asked if we enjoyed our stay .....I was very unsatisfied with my room and the fact that today my card was charged $373 now I'm waiting for a refund in total they charged my card $926 for a one night stay NEVER AGAIN....
