Really enjoyed our stay here. Great location, rooms really comfortable and staff were all really helpful, particularly the concierge who booked us tickets to the Giants game! Would highly recommend. Only minus is the paid wifi in the rooms. Given the price,I felt it should be free.
"Another disapointing westin with rude customer service"
Stayed there for 4 nights and experienced rude staff, uncontrolled staff, derty rooms! On arrival we checked in around 3 pm and noticed when arriving in the room that the minibar was like a tsunami, half empty bottles all messed up. I informed the star service about the case to avoid being charged for drinks I not had. Instead to be answered, I am sorry we send someone to solve the problem I received a rude answer from a screeming service staff, that I said she should stop to be agressive to the customer, as I just wanted to inform and not complained,This was a untrained staff for the job. The breakfast quality is poor, croissants and chocolate croissants over proofed and hard like a stone, it seems that the chef is not comming out of his office to check the quality. The only positive point is the friendly belstaff and concierge.who are efficient.
A five minute walk to the bus, clean rooms with great views of the bay bridge, had welcome drinks at check in as well as early evening (non-alcoholic) would completely recommend, however not cheap by any means, great starting point to see the city
Just stayed here for a major convention in town. The check in experience was where it started. Unenthusiastic front desk help were borderline rude. After getting into my $300 a night room I was stunned at how small it was. It was an odd shape as one of the corner rooms on the floor. The bathroom was very small and oddly placed right as you enter the room. I've stayed in to her chains for half the price with nicer rooms. I called the front desk to see if I could possibly change and after 5 minutes when no one answered I went down to the front desk. Again the borderline rudeness and they made you feel like you were an inconvenience. I am also a Starwood preferred member. They could not change my room I was told as the hotel was completely booked. They did say they could change my room tomorrow and for me to check back then. I did contact the front desk the next morning and was told there was a room and I could change. I moved myself to my new room. It was better in size (standard) but nothing great for the price. The breakfast was way over priced and nothing special. The bar was a disappointment in terms of service. We constantly had to go find a waitress to take our order or order at the bar. It was clean but very standard in terms of being just a room, nothing special. I was here 6 days and was extremely disappointed in this hotel. Not up to Westin standards.
If you're just looking to be in San Francisco at a good price then this hotel is OK. The rooms are nice and clean and the bathroom is a good size although the shower area is a bit dark. The hotel lacks ambiance and the staff was so blah and robotic. Also, there's nothing to do in the area. It's probably a good place to stay for business purposes, going to AT&T Park for a Giants game (we walked there in about 15-20 minutes) or if you're looking for a hotel without any personality.
