Great location, room was perfect for 3 of us, plenty of room, hot water in the shower, breakfast was great on the terrace, the staff were most helpful. They helped us arrange for laundry, and a taxi back to the airport in Marrakech (we took the local bus to get to Essaouira but wanted a less stressful return), and provided us with a good map of the city. Thank you!
Great Experience! The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and the roof deck is beautiful! -Good wifi -Amazing breakfast (with eggs! -A big deal in morocco) -Wonderful owners/staff (gave great restaurant recos) -Perfect Location -Beautiful hotel
"Unbelievably Wonderful "
When we came to Morocco we were a little unsure about staying in a Riad. But then we heard about Pierre and Marie's Riad and decided to give it a try. They have a excellent reputation for very good reasons. First the Riad itself is of wonderful design and decor. Rooms are very large with beautiful common areas. Great Wifi!!! Second, the location is perfect. Third, the clientele you are staying with are sophisticated and entertaining. Fourth, the food is lovely and wine is nicely paired. Fifth, they can arrange anything you need. I wouldn't have stayed anywhere else.
We were personally welcomed by the owners Marie and Pierre. Villa Garance is located in the centre of the Medina in a quiet small street. The Riad is very tastefully furnished and decorated and gives you the feeling of 1001 night! The whole Team is very friendly and careing. An excellent Breakfast is served at the various terraces on the rooftop. We will for sure book again at Villa Garance if we travel again to Essaouira. Thank you to let us feel so comfortable! "The ideal location to explore a fascinating city."
My Dad, brother and I spent a week in this awesome hotel. Located within the Medina - the old walled city - the Villa Garance was a wonderful oasis hidden within the labyrinthine streets that comprise this amazing city. The rooms were lovely (I had a brilliant room on the roof and could walk out to breakfast on the roof in the sun and with astounding views out to sea and across the rooftops) and very comfortable, the bed especially. It was also very clean and looked immaculate - as if I'd not slept there the night before - when I came back. There is plenty to do and see around Essaouira and my Dad and brother were keen to try kite-surfing, riding on the beach, as well as exploring slightly further afield. Marie and her husband Pierre who own and run the Riad were able to offer brilliant advice of where to get the best experiences and best deals. We really packed a lot into our week's stay but the hotel was located so centrally that we didn't feel worn-out and often we would return after lunch and spend the afternoon lounging on the roof on the deck-chairs. The Villa Garance definitely seemed to be the perfect relaxing spot to take a pause from the vibrant and packed streets. My Dad was keen to try cooking some local dishes as well and the wonderful cook took us to the market where we loaded up on local produce and spices before cooking a truly delicious, traditional, three-course meal. It should be noted that the food throughout our stay was very good - especially for my brother and me who are vegan. There is great sea-food (obviously) if you want it but for us, the cuisine was well suited since it doesn't rely on dairy products and is all very fresh. I really hope to return and loved talking to Marie who was particularly kind to let me practice French with her! Thank you to all the staff as well - they really looked after us and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. We couldn't have asked for more and the Villa Garance ticked all the boxes. À la prochaine!
