"3 nights in 987 hotel"
The hotel is in an ideal location about 5 min walk from the main train station and the airport express bus stop. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff and our room was one of the biggest nicest rooms we ever had in Europe. The breakfast is very good buffet style. It is about a 7 minute walk from the powder tower and not very far from old town square. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Overall - great hotel by all means. Location is great, and you can reach all of the main landmarks by foot which is a good advantage. Also, train, bus and tram stations are 2 minutes walk away! The hotel itself was very good. The staff were amazing, and helped us a lot with good tips, and took the time to show us everything we asked for on a map very patiently. The breakfest is very good, has great chocolate milk / coffee machine. It also provides good eggs, cheeses, breads, morning cerial and many other breakfast typed foods. We enjoyed every meal in our 4 night stay! On top of it all: the room. We had a room on the 6th floor which was awesome in every aspect. 2 floors, lots of space, coffee machine, and a huge bed! Would definetly recommend booking this type of room, it's on a higher level than the rest. Being not the biggest, but one of the best hotels i have been to. Be sure to check this gem out!
I wish there were rooms that would allow smoking or at least a smoking area within the hotel, cause I had to leave the hotel every time. Other than that I think it was a lovely stay thank you very much :)
"Needs some TLC"
We first visited this hotel 10 years ago, and loved it, but on our return we found it to be very tired looking and in need of some attention. The website states that rooms come with "Bottle of Mattoni water in the room", (no water in our room) and "interactive light displays in every Guest Room that encourage guests to personalize their own individual space" - what this means I have no idea - we did have light switches that switched various combinations of lights on and off! Our room was quite dark due to the dark brown and orange paint, the orange glass door to the bathroom, the heavy curtains and the grey voile curtains at the windows, plus the dark wood furniture and flooring. We had a 'desk', but no chair. We asked about this and an office chair was produced - far too large for the room - and on the next day another chair appeared! The bed was quite comfortable apart from the very thin, very long pillow. We ended up putting the cushions underneath to give us more height. The sink is in the room, not in the bathroom, which is ok, but not ideal. The bathroom was tired looking and the grout around the bath and shower screen was dirty and mouldy. We didn't use the shower as we had a bath tub, but that did not look clean either. It is the only hotel I have been in where the towels have an RFID tag on them - did they get a lot of them stolen I wonder' The paint work in the room was damaged and grubby. Housekeeping wasn't very consistent. On one occasion they took away the bath mat and left extra bath towels and did not replenish the toilet rolls - leaving us with no spare and not even half a roll left! Breakfast was adequate, but nothing special. The dish labelled 'sausages and bacon' only ever had rather horrid looking soggy, but burnt, bacon. The one good thing was proper bread to toast and a toaster that cooked it nicely! Very little choice of fresh fruit and no low fat yogurt of any kind. The seating in the breakfast area also left a lot to be desired - strange backless seats, or heavy metal ones, or a soggy 'sofa' type bench seat! This may have been a modern, upmarket hotel 10 years ago, but now it seems rather run down and tired. The dark paint and furniture no longer look modern and the dirty bathrooms need updating too. One thing that was good was the air-conditioning, which worked well. The free Wi-Fi was a little slow, but more than acceptable for what we needed it for. Would probably not chose to stay here again unless there is some improvement.
We have been four days at this hotel. The rooms are quite good, modern and confortable. The staff is very friendly, we asked them if could be possible to change our rooms to other two that would be one next to the other and there was no problem, the following say we had our new rooms. The breakfast is nice, very useful to refill energy before a long day of walking around the city. They also helped is to do the check-in before leaving. The only inconvenient was that they didn't replace the gel and shampoo bottles and we has to go to the reception to get them. To resume, a good and recommendable experience.
