"Friendly, helpful Staff/Business Hotel"
Not located in tourist area. A box hotel without a lot of character, but the staff is very helpful. Rooms were small, but for one person are fine. I was in Palma de Mallorca for holiday and the AC Hotel Ciutat de Palma was OK for a base of operations. It was not a "destination" of itself. The surrounding neighborhood provided some interesting places to eat. It is one block from the harbor and access to city and tour buses. The breakfast buffet in the morning was good. Mallorca is a great place to visit.
"Business hotel stay"
During my stay for a business trip both the restaurant and bar were under full renovation. I had a large room upon arrival overlooking a busy street. After a sleepless first night, I asked to be moved to a quieter room. I was offered a slightly smaller room, in the back of the hotel on a small, private road. Room was clean, nice bathroom. Breakfast was well stocked.
Hotel is perfectly located for Central Palma and has some great rooms. We've stayed a couple of times now and stayed their with kids over this half term. I phoned ahead and asked for the interconnecting rooms and they were perfect for us all. The breakfast is a bit pricey but very good and with plenty of selection.
"If you're staying in Palma de Majorca, this is a great choice. "
We only stayed one night on our way to another part of the island but we made the most of it. The location of this hotel is good (but you won't get a good view of the water). Great dining nearby and centrally located. Nice floor to ceiling windows and windows h windows actually open. Great customer service. Cons: unfortunately our first impressions weren't great. No parking garage!!!!!! And no decent easy parking nearby. We circled the block way more times than I want to count. The front of the hotel is on a busy Main Street so we didn't dare park there. To us it would be like parking in the middle of street. As you walk into the hotel there is a really annoying step that trips up nearly everyone coming and going. It's in an odd location, it's only about an inch or two high prime for stubbing a toe and doing a face plant. Lastly the place of hanging clothing and setting your bag was not very well made. We discovered when we put our bag on it that someone prior had broken it and just placed it back. Inspecting the broken shelf we could easily see that it was pressed board but not of a density that would hold a suitcase. These things really were minor. It was a nice European style hotel.
"Good location and food, bad customer service"
My husband and I stayed here for a week of cycling with friends. We were initially given a room right next to the elevators which was very noisy (ironic because I use the stairs almost exclusively). We asked to change rooms the next day and were told it would be an extra 18.50 Euros/night, which I was happy to pay. When we checked out, they charged us 18.50 Euros/PERSON/night. They said I signed a paper, but I suspect that they hand wrote the price after I had signed. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but was told that was not possible. The check-in took a VERY long time, so be sure to plan for that. Also, the front desk cancelled a couples massage that my husband and I had reserved without informing us. It was our last evening, so it was a bit disappointing. On the positive side, our new room was quiet and comfortable, the food was very good, and they delivered cake and wine to our room for my husband's birthday.
