"Advice for Marriott Platinum Card Holders"
I stayed at this hotel for 3 days this week. The AC chain of hotels belongs to the Marriott group. The rate I got was €199 per night which in my book, is a good amount of money and sets high expectations. I could wax lyrical about a number of issues I experienced during my stay but can’t be bothered. Let’s just say that the AC Cusco fell completely flat on its backside. I will report one element. I want to make those of you who are Marriott Platinum card holders (I’m one of them) that the AC group, in their divine wisdom, have decided that we do not get complimentary breakfast. This means that upon checkout and faced with begrudgingly paying the €199 per night, along with a 10% tax of €19.90 so real total €218.90, they slapped me with a breakfast bill of an additional €22 per day !!! What can I say – I was pretty much furious. I challenged the people behind the desk whose best responses were “AC hotels do not offer Platinum Card holders complimentary breakfast” and insultingly “check the terms and conditions on your booking”. Let me pass comment on the breakfast buffet. I think I’m justified in saying that €22 should buy you a grand breakfast of premium quality with all the trimmings that you would normally expect from a Marriott chain hotel. Believe me when I say I did not enjoy the slices of scrambled egg and most certainly did not indulge in the cheese, meats and fruit that I saw flies crawling over. Yes, this AC hotel could not even bother to put cloches/covers over their offerings. So for my €22, I ate a yoghurt and cereal and drank a coffee and water. Not really great value. Here’s my recommendation. If you plan to stay at the AC Cusco, don’t – go and stay somewhere else. If you insist on staying at the AC Cusco, for breakfast, go to one of the 2 cafes that are in the square immediately behind the hotel. I’m sure they do breakfast and will charge a fraction of the amount that the hotel does and provide something of a much higher quality. Final words. First to Marriott: Print in huge letters on each of the AC hotel descriptions on your web-site “AC Hotels do not offer complimentary breakfast to Marriott Platinum card holders”. Second, I feel completely and utterly ripped off. €218.90 per night – are you lot joking ' Shameful.
"Nice place, very expensive, food not very good"
The bar was very expensive 4 euros for a 7up. Breakfast very ordinary cold and coffee not good and cold when we complain the attendant we were told not her problem. A little bit far from downtown.Cold atmosphere on the lobby.
"Nice place, not very friendly."
Clean, well appointed. nothing special. I came to the conclusion that unless you can speak Spanish. No one wants to talk to you. Doesn't matter what place of business you are in. They don't want to talk to you. This is too bad. Including this hotel.
Very clean, modern and great location. The metro station is literally across the street. Customer service is excellent. The breakfast buffet is delicious and affordable for what you get. The hotel doesn't have a pool but many hotels in Europe don't have one.
The hotel from a cosmetic point looks ok..even good, but look closer and you would see cracks. The room, whilst modern, had no tea/coffee making facilities, bathrobes, slippers and the housekeeping was not in habit of replacing amenities. Breakfast selection was good though and the staff in the breakfast room were very pleasant.
