"Overnight before flying out. "
So Marriott has done a great job of making this hotel what you think it would be if you stay at Marriott properties. Nice room, helpful staff, parking, good location. Parking is €21, room price is reasonable, does not focus on the extra activities such as dining or fine wine. Very good Beach Access. I arrived on Sunday afternoon after a week of business travel and I needed my laundry done, the staff was able to get it done in an hour. Thank you.
"Quiet hotel, beach access, 20 minutes from the city"
This its a Marriott chain hotel, clean, modern, very nice. The hotel and room exceed my expectations for the price ranges. They have a beautiful garden and pool. Easy beach access. It is near to the airport also.
"Nice beach resort."
I was surprised by my stay here. I actually had a better experience here than at the Ritz-Carlton (Hotel Arts) near the city. The hotel is not conveniently located to the Metro, so I decided to take a taxi from the airport. It cost 20 Euros each way. The hotel is located in a quiet residential neighborhood and on a beautiful stretch of beach. The beach was perfect for relaxing at sunset and running as well. Waves can vary in intensity here, too. There is a decent hotel with nice lounge chairs and a bar, which was closed during my stay here, but drinks are easily available at the pool-front restaurant. There was a bit of a wait to check-in with the sole front desk agent. I have heard this is a problem from other people staying here as well. After about a 10 minute wait, I was helped by a friendly agent who explained the hotel and my room to me. I was happy with my room. Thanks to my Marriott Gold status, I was given a room on the top floor of the hotel, and with amazing ocean views, too. I thoroughly enjoyed opening my windows and hearing the waves crash at night. Ahhhh! True relaxation. The bed was a hard, yet still comfortable King size bed. Only a thin sheet was on offer as a comforter, so that was disappointing. There was a very large television in the room with a decent selection of television channels. Wi-fi was on the slow side, even the "high-speed" wi-fi I had access to, yet functional. There was a mini-bar with a small selection of drinks on offer in the room as well. Floors were hard-wood, which were fine though not my preference. The shower was fine, and of decent pressure, with shampoo, but no conditioner on offer. A nice soap, comb, shoe shine, and body wash and lotion were also on offer in the bathroom. I had breakfast in the morning, which I personally felt was a let-down and over-priced. 18 Euros for essentially the same breakfast one is offered at a Holiday Inn Express in the states felt like a rip-off. The check-out was easy in the morning, and the friendly associate called a taxi for me. Overall, this is a nice resort that is perfect for lounging on the beach and a relaxing time before ones flight thanks to its relative close proximity to the airport. I recommend a stay here,
"Has the potential to be a 5*"
This place has soo much potential and a few tweaks could make it a 5* property. First off, all the rooms face the sea / pool so there really isn't a bad view in the property. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful so have no complaints in that regard. The best parts of this property is the location and pool. The pool on the property is large and there are plenty of chairs for you to relax upon around the pool. Also, the property has a large green space where kids can run around and play without disturbing anyone. From the hotel you can access the beach in 1 minute, this property is basically beach front but not actually on the beach. The beach itself is massive, clean and just a great place to spend the day. As well the hotel is located close to all kinds of restaurants and the neighbourhood has such a relaxed vibe, I would recommend this area (Gave Mar) for a vacation. I have just a few areas for improvement. 1) Our room did not come with bottled water, they say you can drink the tap water, which I am okay with but it is quite standard for hotels to offer free bottled water, here you had to pay for it from the mini-bar. 2) We were a family of four and there was only 1 bath towel supplied. 3) This hotel has great access to the airport (10 minute drive), as such, we stayed here for the airport access as we had an early morning flight. However, they also hosted an outdoor wedding the night before we had to leave, thus we did not get any sleep. This is a small hotel and all the rooms face the green space where the wedding was taking place, as such, I don't think anyone got sleep that night. 4) The tub in the bathroom has some mould developing in the corners and it is signifiant enough that I noticed so maybe a little bit more care should be paid to some of the upkeep. 5) The pool area has a little bar, however the person who operates it does not provide service but rather you have to go get whatever you want yourself. I am not a lazy person but you pay a premium price at a hotel for everything so the least they could do is bring it to me. All in all I would recommend this property because it is nice, it has great staff and the location is impeccable, but like I have stated with a few tweaks it has the potential to be a 5*
Lovely end to our holiday. They allowed us to access our room very early. Great access to beach and a cool beach bar. We chose as close to airport but would have been happy to have whole holiday there.
