"Beautiful and peaceful location"
What a find. A truly beautiful hotel, set in lovely grounds looking out over the river. Built on the site of an old convent it has either retained or been restored in keeping with how it would have been. The room windows all have an old single shutter which does make the room very dark at night. The rooms are large with lovely laid out bathrooms, all very modern and tiled. Lovely fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. The room furniture a little tired Free WiFi which worked well. Good air con. The lounge and breakfast area is in the old cloister domed area. Sadly we were there on the one dull August day so did not see it when the sun was shining, therefore breakfast was a little on the dark side! Ample choice at breakfast. Lots of parking either outside or underground. It was not busy when we stayed (end of August) so we could park outside the main door. A very peaceful location. It is a 5 star Hotel. I would say it was missing just a few '5*' things but would put it high end '4*'. There is a pool, sauna and gym all available to use. Sadly we were not there long enough but would love to come back, maybe next year. One tip the Sat nav kept trying to send us away from the hotel as there is now a one way system in place. We actually drove past the hotel once as we could see a huge AC Hotel sign, but that is situated way past it.You then have to go all the way round again . The hotel actual sign is in terracotta outside the main door and blends in. Drive slowly see the car park on your right and you are there. Easy once you see it!
Lovely hotel, beautiful architecture, luxury accommodation. Nice location by the river and lovely gardens. Staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble. NOT near the town centre (thankfully) so very peaceful. Only thing lacking is that there are no tea making facilities in the room, but hey!
"Far from downtown"
Since we had a car, we decided to stay at this hotel which is about 10 to 15 min from downtown. The room we had was excellent. Large bedroom area with a desk, couch and large table area. The bathroom is large and modern but they need better toiletries and body lotion would be nice. The room had a view and sounds of the river and hundreds of swallows playing around. The grounds are beautiful and well. The hotel has a swimming pool, and a beautiful atrium to have a drink. Recommended.
"Good Overnight Stay"
Looks like they ARE popular for weddings since the area is located in a residential neighborhood. There was a wedding when we stayed there overnight but it wasn't a bother to us. We had one of the best dinners here for the duration of our European trip. Their service is also wonderful. I liked their breakfast spread although I'm not really a breakfast person. The rooms are spacious enough with good facilities. If you have to stop by around this area for overnight, you will not go wrong with this place.
"Good hotel for a stopover"
This is an adequate hotel, especially if one is driving through Spain and looking for a competent overnight stop. The hotel is modern, efficient but somewhat characterless. The rooms are well-equipped (though the beds are, as so often In Spain, far too hard for most people's taste). The restaurant opens late - again, annoying but as is usual in Spain. The location is not so good for visiting the city - 3 km from the centre of Valladolid, and not well signposted. But for an overnight stop, it was adequate.
