"Nice Hotel, Modern & Clean, Bad guests!"
Nice Hotel! Very clean, modern and new. My stay was enjoyable for the most part and I do not know how it could really be improved. I found many of the other guests at the hotel to be people that I did not want to be near. I believe that they were from Japan. They were very loud and always filling the small lobby. When we were checking out and your front desk clerk was helping us, one woman kept trying to "push" her way in front of us and give her key card to the clerk. I do not like being "physically pushed". The same people would mill around in the small lobby and by the elevator making it difficult to move within the hotel. In the evening when we got off the elevator these people from Japan would not move to let us leave the elevator and go to dinner. We nicely asked them to allow us to pass in English, Spanish and French. They would not let us through. Finally I had to put my arm out and start gently pushing my through the crowd. At the breakfast buffet the same people went up and down the table touching and squeezing all of the breads and other items. I do not want to eat items that other people have been foundling. As we were making coffee (two cups, one for each of us) a man came up and tried to push his way in front of me to get a cup of coffee before we were finished. Not something that I like or want to deal with.
"Cruising From Barcelona"
My wife and I planned a Mediterranean cruise leaving Barcelona. Due to ongoing political situation and possible instability we decided to play it safe and book a hotel outside the city but still easily accessible. Being a Marriott fan and Platinum member we chose the AC Som. The cost to get to and from was a 25 euros taxi for both the airport and the port. The train station is walking distance to the hotel and getting to the city it was 9 euros for a day train pass for both of us and 10-15 min ride. The hotel is fairly new, really affordable and very clean. It's also 2 streets away from a large indoor shopping center and walking distance to many restaurants. Would definitely use this location again and recommend to friends and family.
"Nice Hostel in convenient location"
Convenient location to shopping mall and convention center. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was nice sized, modern, and very comfortable. The wifi was nice and the desk space made working easy and productive. I didn't have breakfast here, but peeked in and it looked good. Coffee and snaks were available in the lobby at certain hours. While I didn't get a lot of time to explore Barcelona due to a busy conference schedule, I'd love to return to this hotel on my next trip here.
"Little hard to find but worth it"
Very modern hotel near a large mall on way to airport. This hotel is very nice with a very attentive staff. The hotel is very clean and quiet. You can walk to the mall and dine in an excellent Spanish restaurant named El Boliche.
"Very comfortable, convenient to airport via Bus 46"
Staff was very competent and kind. Room was nice with a very comfortable reading chair, desk, pretty nice pillows. Amenities are nice. A bit out of the way but there is frequent service via train or bus to to center city. The train takes you to Plaza Espanya in about 10 or 15 minutes. Bus to airport took 30 minutes door to door but could be longer in traffic. It runs approximately every 5 minutes. There are also many busses into town. There are quite a few restaurants within a couple blocks but the area is commercial, not charming like the Gothic area or L'Eixample.
