This was an excellent stay for us in a great hotel with staff that could do enough for us to make our stay better. 5 stars for the staff.Comment of F. Norman , Australia the 2016-05-24
Would book it again! Nice view from the 20th floor. Location is great, you can reach the Opera House within 10 minutes. Friendly and helpful staff. Shopping area in walking distance. Rooms very clean.
"5 star in Sydney"
e chose to stay at the Amora Jamison hotel in Sydney Central Business district and was in a great location for the Rocks, Darling harbour, Sydney Opera House, and the Circular Quay where all the ferries terminate. The hotel was chosen because the other hotels that had availability were 4 star, and the cost of room and breakfast was greater than that of the Amora. The hotel was generally clean with some particles of dust remaining for the 4 nights of our tenure. The bed was comfortable, but the mattress took some getting used to because of it's ultra softness, which took you by surprise. The dressing gowns supplied would have only fitted size 10 or less, and although we were a little plump we could not use these items. The tea facilities were good however, it was disappointing to find plastics spoons in a 5* Hotel, and when I made a cu of tea, the spoon would melt and change shape. A photograph is attached. The breakfast dining area was very comfortable and a wide selection of food including gluten free items. Omelettes were to order, but everything else is readily available Buffet style. I will praise one of the hotel Concierge's for his assistance in helping to repair my wife crutch which was damaged on the flight from Melbourne to Sydney. The Hotel was well run and well presented. Worth another stay in the future.
"Great value, great location"
Visited for only one night for business. Was very impressed. Everything in the room good quality. Amazingly comfortable bed. Good location close to Wynyard station as well as short walk to many mid CBD areas. Will definately be back
"Nice hotel shame about the beds"
The hotel was very nice with great view. The beds were like marsh mallow. It was very hard to sleep. We left early beacuse of this reason. I would not like to use the hotel again beacuse of the beds. I do a lot of travel and this was the worst beds I have come across
Returning to Sydney on business and decided to stay again at the Amora. Was given a smaller room this time for some reason even though I had booked a "Jamison Club Room". This gives you acces to the lounge where you can get snacks/breakfast but it's not open all the time as with other hotel's similar rooms. Location is good for shops and sightseeing. Nothing has really changed since my last visit and I feel a bit of tlc is required througthe hotel now. Think other hotels may now represent better value.
