"Basic hotel - clean in a central location "
We stayed twice for one night each on our way to other places. The room we were allocated on our first visit was tiny - we paid above the basic level of cost - and was not only small even for European standards - luckily we didn't want to open either of our suitcases as the only space to do that would have been on top of the bed. The bed was very hard and pillows dreadful. Shower over the bath. On the second visit, the room was a little larger (eg there was a bedside table on each side of the bed before wall one side and wardrobe the other) and the bed was slightly softer. Air conditioning worked OK. On a brighter note - the front desk staff do speak English and are reasonably accommodating with information, calling taxis etc. Breakfast was included and is pretty basic but edible. Coffee not too bad. The location is good - 5 minutes walk to Trevi fountain or Spanish Steps.
"Good choice-Hotel Anglo american"
This charming, up-to-date hotel was in a great location. The entire staff spoke English, where very polite, helpful, informative-gave us great service. The facilities were clean and comfortable. Plus, the daily breakfast provided an array of items. Gave us useful information about walking in Rome-Example: locations, distances, places of interest. Arranged for our transportation to the cruise port in Rome at the end of our stay..
Modern,Very nice and clean hotel , great staff , very helpful and cordial. Good and spacious rooms . Breakfast was ok too .all in all we had a very good deal through trip advisor . Rome is amazing, i would certainly consider coming back . It was hot though ,got sunburnt even though i applied sunblock
My partner and I recently stayed at Anglo Americano in the heart of Rome. Whilst not having huge expectations as we knew the location was amazing, we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. After a rather unwelcoming start to our trip in France, we didn't know what to expect as this was our first day in Italy. The extremely friendly and helpful staff made for a very warm welcoming and went above and beyond for us with any question we had or help we needed. Coupled with a neat breakfast that kickstarted the day, and awesome Italian coffee! The only knock I could fault would be the comfort of the bed, but at the end of a busy day exploring Rome, we could have slept on anything! Keep up the good work Hotel Anglo Americano, customer service a big tick in our book!
"Clean but average"
For the price, this hotel is basic at best. It is however, very centrally located with just a short walk to a number of attractions and the metro station. We, like other reviewers, expected more from a 4 star rated hotel. The rooms were clean but tired - very tired. Scuffed walls, the wardrobe laminate was peeling and the shower - well the cat got concussion. The hotel's website advertises free wifi, but they charge - only a small amount but that is not the point. I also had to go out into the hall to get the wifi to connect. When we return to Rome, I will be looking elsewhere.
