"50th weekend in edinburgh"
excellent hotel spotless throughout.the staff are so helpful and polite.the rooms are very spacious and have only quality fixtures and fittings.did not try the food but will do next time we visit.the location is excellent also you are near to everything but the hotel is so quite would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone thanks for a great stay.
Hotel in brilliant location to Station. Helpful with leaving luggage both when we arrived and departed. Very reasonable priced. Staff were very helpful and friendly. No issues with booking taxis for us. Had a couple of drinks in hotel bar, again very reasonably priced.
Having stayed in other Apex hotels we opted to try out the Waterloo Place Hotel because of its ideal location at the heart of the city and proximity to the railway station. We booked direct as it was easy, offered a good price, and had the added bonus of giving us a £10 voucher to use in the Bar, Restaurant or Spa. While booking, the guy at reception asked if there was any special purpose for our trip and I mentioned that it was my son's birthday. This was clearly noted, as the receptionist on arrival wished him a "Happy Birthday", and to our surprise, there was a handwritten card, and bag of sweets in our room for him. Everything about our trip was First Class, from the booking to the welcome, to the service throughout our stay. Our room rate included Continental Breakfast but we were able to upgrade to a full cooked breakfast for a modest amount. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot and cold options. Christopher (our Breakfast Waiter) really went out of his way to ensure that we had everything we wanted and was very polite and courteous at all times. My wife decided that she would like to book a Manicure. It wasn’t possible to book the treatment she wanted, but staff were able to fit her in for an alternative service later in the day. It really seemed to matter to the staff that we had an enjoyable stay. We ate elsewhere in the city on our first night but chose to eat in the hotel restaurant on the second night. The hotel reception staff were very helpful in making our reservation. The service in the restaurant was excellent. We enjoyed a very nice ambience, had a relaxing meal and were able to choose from a wide range of options to suit all three of us. The prices didn't break the bank either, at roughly £30 each for a three course meal with wine. We called in to the bar on a couple of occasions during our stay and found the service to be excellent. Whether we were simply having a drink, stopping off for a coffee, or in my son's case snacking on hand-cut chips, the staff were very accommodating and the prices were sensible. We visited the pool, sauna and steam rooms on Saturday afternoon and found these to be well presented, clean, tidy and well maintained. We had a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks Apex Waterloo … We’ll certainly be back again!
Staff were efficient and friendly - a very warm welcome was appreciated. Spacious room, clean and comfortable especially the beds. Only negative was room was too warm - heating was great but no air conditioning which resulted in having to open a window so endured a little street noise.
