With a tour operator we visited Russia and stayed in the Hotel Reception, Room and Food were excellent Very nice rooms very clean and well organized Staff were also very friendly I would recommend this Hotel
"Excellent hotel for foreign travelers"
While not quite as close to the bars and restaurants as I would have liked, the Aquamarine was an excellent hotel. Front desk were extremely friendly, spoke excellent English, and were very helpful. Restaurant food was great, nice introduction to Russian cuisine, and friendly and good English speaking waiters who treated us like rock stars. Room was very comfortable, the bathroom was very comfortable with good water pressure and hot water, and breakfast was pretty good. All in all, I highly recommend.
Great location 15 minutes from Red Square, clean well equipped room and friendly staff. Not great views as its down a street a couple of minutes from the river. The breakfast was normal standard for this type of hotel. Reception staff spoke excellent English. My only reservation was that there was no movie channel on the TV, just BBC World which can be very repetitive. However, Premiership football was on whilst I was there, maybe it was Euro sport.
"A great hotel with the BEST included breakfast!!"
Great location, great attention to detail, a buffet breakfast with great variety that will fill you till the afternoon. And the front desk staff and concierge: attentive and friendly. Oh, and fantastically clean. I would go again!!
Pros: This hotel met and exceeded all of my expectations Aquamarine responded to all of my emails very quickly and did as I requested. The front desk staff speak excellent English. I would like to recognize Olga for helping me out at night when I really needed some assistance. Everybody, from the kitchen staff to doormen to the housekeepers were kind, professional, and courteous. The rooms are clean and modernly decorated. The water pressure for showers, sinks, and toilets was great. The hotel has a kitchen which is open 24/7. It rained hard one night in Moscow and I couldn't go out because I didn't have an umbrella. The food was good, but more expensive than what I would want to normally pay for pelmeni. However, the complimentary breakfast buffet is among the best I have ever had in my lifetime. The hotel offered a wide vareity of breakfast items, including a great selection of typical American breakfast fares like scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and even chicken nuggets and potato wedges. I really enjoyed the breakfast. Cons: The hotel is not far from restaurants, bars, the Metro, and small grocery stores. However, if you are walking, it is inconvenient to get to the aforementioned bars, restaurants, Metro stations, and small grocery stores because you have to walk around a set of buildings in order to get to the closest ones. Most of these places are due west of the hotel, but you must walk a few hundred meters east, then a few hundred meters north, and then maybe 750 meters west to get to these fun places. Anothere thing I found strange was that the whole shower did not have splash protection, only the first half of the shower had splash protection. However, the bathroom door swung open in such a way that it could supplement the existing splash protection and keep the bathroom dry during shower. These undesirable things, however, are immensely outweighed by the positive aspects of this hotel. Wonderful place, professionally ran, hospitable people. If I come to Moscow again, I will stay here for sure!
