"They go the extra mile!"
Overall this is an excellent hotel. The fabric itself is only 4 star but the service more than makes up for it. All the staff, from the cleaners to front desk are so well motivated that nothing seems too much trouble. Our room, om arrival was not as we had hoped for, the hotel was full yet by the morning a far superior room had been arranged and we were moved in with little fuss. The food is wonderful, we were only half board and still had enough! - and the nightly entertainment was varied and sufficient. Dining at the Firepit proved expensive as no allowance is given from the prepaid tariff - this didn't make sense to us. Well located with a useful beach, watersports area this hotel has to be on your list! Bad points' - if we had to be picky the "towels on seats" policy was not well controlled - one could see the morning "pre breakfast" visits to deposit towels on the best sun bed locations. Pity, but nothing could spoil this hotel. We hope the staff know how well their work is appreciated.
"Lasting Memories of a Wonderful Experience"
What can I say - everything about this hotel was superb. The welcome, the room, the friendly efficient staff. The food in all the restaurants was of a very high standard and variety with particular mention of the a la carte meals in the Mirabello and Culinarium. We were all inclusive which DID include water at all meals and the house wine was very acceptable. We also had a couple of bottles of wine recommended by the hotel's Sommelier who was always on hand with a depth of knowledge to be envied. The layout of the grounds is haphazard with beautifully well kept gardens. Following the lanes to beach was an adventure not knowing what was round the next corner, with terraces and infinty pools and plenty of sunbeds - spectacular would not be too OTT. We did the excursion to Knossos and came away with wonderful memories thanks to Maria who held our hand through the palace and the museum in Heraklion. A long day but very well worth the effort. Would I go again, yes, very much so. Well done to all the staff who made such a difference to our stay - oh and did I mention superb - efcharisto!
I would agree with everything everyone writes about the sensimar. We just had a fab week, half board, room was spacious and clean. Nice furnishings. Grounds are beautiful and well kept. Water sports , jet ski, paddle boards, wind surfing and the like. A fantastic padi dive centre, Blue Dolphin. Run by Lucky and Diane with help from Pierre. You guys are amazing. Such fun company and very knowledgeable. Thankyou for everything. ( our 2 nights out were fab👍😜) We tried the spa. Beach bar, lobby bar, but not the mirabello or cullinarium, no need to. Food in the main restaurant was fab. On a 14 day cycle so you never eat the same thing twice. Wine list was pricey and water was €4.20!!! Please surely you could give FREE water at dinner! It is roughly half hour walk into Elounda itself and a taxi back is a standard 8 euros. Plenty bars and tavernas. Boat trips to Spinalonga, a must. And also a trip to Knossos. If you book through tui and get Maria as your guide, she is fantastic. The only criticism I have, and really not a criticism but just s thought... we were there for the final gala evening. DJ Robles was there, he’s fantastic, and the management come in and introduced themselves. Then as a gift from them, champagne and chocolates... well one half of the room, our side got nothing!! There was a slight mishap in a poor young lady losing some off her tray, but surely as management you would think to get more so we could all enjoy it. But apart from that.... loved every minute. Thankyou
"Fantastic in every way!"
Stayed for 1 week in late October on an all inclusive basis. Warm welcome from the moment we got off the transfer bus. Friendly and efficient check in service when hotel facilities were explained. Very spacious room, with patio area and shared pool. Room contained well stocked mini bar where many items were complementary. Mini bar re-stocked every day. Fruit provided in room every other day. Complementary english newspaper delivered to the room daily circa lunchtime. Excellent all inclusive food - american buffet style breakfast - omelettes cooked to order. 3 course lunch selected from menu. International buffet each evening where there was a good selection of food for all 3 courses which was well cooked. Drinks - Had the house wines during our meals, red, white and rose all good. Tried working through the all inclusive cocktails. 22 available as all inclusive. Excellent drinks waitress service in the lobby bar from Ellena. Lobby bar also used for the evening entertainment - guitarist, greek evening, DJ etc. Participated in the short courses run by the hotel in the early evening for making cocktails and wine tasting. Courses started at 6pm and lasted 30 minutes - no charge. Made use of tennis court which was booked at reception. Rackets and balls provided by hotel. Plenty of areas for sitting in the sun and going into the sea. Waterspouts available. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would use again if visiting crete.
We really loved this hotel. All the things really important on a holiday were excellent. It began with a genuine Crete welcome at reception and ended with a warm goodbye and a genuine promise to return. This hotel tries, and succeeds, at every level. The rooms are well fitted, cleaned daily and well, and the beds very comfortable. The excellent buffet restaurant provides a wide choice at every meal and the quality to go with it. The gala dinners and special theme nights mean there is always something tasty to look forward to or look back on. Top marks. Evening entertainment was varied with something for everyone. Daytime we spent at the small cove watching others soaking up the winter sun on the pier. A really good and relaxing holiday made possible by a lovely staff who did their very best to make sure we enjoyed it. Result!!
