"A downtown luxury hotel in a quiet side street"
This is a very nice hotel right in the centre of Sofia. All the major touristic attractions are within walking distance. The suite was really nice, with the bedroom separate from a spacious living room. Elegant bathroom, with shower and bathtub, accessible from both rooms. The only problem was the very bright night light (I had to put a cushion in front of it). Comfortable bed and no traffic noise: I slept like a baby. I also had lunch at the hotel restaurant: a positive experience, which is not common in hotel restaurant. Unfortunately I didn't have time for the spa. Great price for such a high standard. Highly recommended.
"Best hotel in central Sofia"
I've tried several hotels in central Sofia. This is the best priced and has a good location. Rooms are large and well appointed. There are two restaurants and a large lounge with waiter service. The spa is small. The roman remains in the basement are a reminder of the fact Sofia has a long history
Excellent rooms. Our room had a large bathroom (shower and bath) and separate WC Nice range of bath soaps. Breakfast is Ok, but not a 5 star rating! Excellent central location, a few minutes walk from Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Staff at the reception could do better by smiling and acknowledging their customers!
"Some of the rooms are ridiculously big"
Came here with a group of friends for the weekend. The hotel looks out of place as it a beautiful 5 star hotel in a cul-de-sac which backs onto some less than fresh faced flats. 15 minutes in a taxi from Sofia airport which came to 40 Bulgarian Lev. Some of the rooms are stupidly big. I stayed in a twin room which had 2 single beds. Other friends that I went with had separate bedrooms within their hotel room whilst others had a bathroom separate to the WC. The bathroom was huge. The bath was big enough for 2 and the shower was a wet room again 2 people could sit in! Mini bar in the room sets you back 2 Lev for a bottle of water (one came complimentary with the room) and 3 Lev for a can of coke. Reception staff speak English and deal in both Bulgarian Lev and Euro's. Breakfast was buffet style with both hot and cold options. Food was very nice.
The immediate area around the hotel is not very inviting however because it's quite central, most of the monuments are withing walking distance. Rooms are very classy, L'Occitane toiletries, kettle and hairdryer in the room. Below ground floor level some roman ruins and boardrooms. SPA and gym, the first one quite pricey however very stylish and relaxing. Food in the restaurant good but looking at the prices you might want to venture into town somewhere.
