"Bathroom Floor Heated "
This hotel was marvellous!!! The indoor parking was easily accessible, the hotel on outskirts of town was easy to get to. We took a tram ( walking distance) to get to city center . The room was pleasant, beds comfortable, complimentary tea and tea kettle, and the best part was how lovely and warm the bathroom was with its in-floor heating. The hair dryer and magnifying mirror were a welcome accessory . Reception staff were helpful and friendly. There was an insight bar and dining lounge. The dinner was excellent .
"Location not so good for city center"
Stayed here during a business trip to Amsterdam. Hotel is very modern but its restaurant is pricey for for what you get. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Would not advise people to stay here if they are going on city break as it is located in a business park and it is a tram ride to city centre.
Little disappointed with rooms for the price you pay little tatty....breakfast nothing special..only stayed here due to location to meeting. There are better hotels in Amsterdam if your coming for fun.
We don't believe in spending a lot of money on rooms as we only use them to sleep. This hotel was comfortable, clean and our room 209 was quiet. We spent two night here prior to a cruise. It's an easy walk to the #2 Tram that takes you right into central Amsterdam and all the way to the train station. We purchased a 48 hour tram/bus pass for 12.5 Euros each at the hotel desk. The airline lost my bag for about 36 hours, the front desk folks immediately offered me a toothbrush kit and shaving kit without my having to ask. We did not use the morning buffet option as we thought we wanted to eat elsewhere. We did have dinner one night, well actually a late burger. The burger was very good as we the cocktails. The service was very slow as there was only one waiter and he was busy trying to keep up but couldn't .
"Overall a good stay!"
We stayed here for 5 nights and were pleased with our choice! The tram (number 2) takes you straight to the city centre within about 15-20 minutes direct. You can buy the generic GVB transport tickets direct from the hotel reception for 24, 48, 72 or 96 hours. They have a basket of plug converters you can borrow (wish we’d known as we spent money on one having forgotten ours at home) and the reception staff were generally very helpful. The tram stop is all but a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel front door and the park area you walk through can be a little dark at night but not dangerous in our experience, everyone stopped to say hello whilst walking their dogs etc. The coffee in the lobby of the hotel is 2.50EUR and they don’t provide much in the tea/coffee making facilities in the room, we bought our own and popped some soy milk in the mini-bar fridge – problem solved. The beds were comfortable but I wouldn’t suggest lifting up the mattress topper which we did by accident when making our beds.. Bit of a fright at how dirty the mattress was – the sheets however were clean and soft so we just made sure they were well tucked in before going to sleep. As others have said there aren’t restaurants or bars nearby – there is an eatery at RADION nearby but we didn’t get a chance to check it out. Bathroom was well equipped with tissues, toilet roll, shampoo and hand wash and it was nice to have a full-size bath which was clean. Can’t comment on the hotel restaurant as we didn’t use it. The hotel has an app that answers FAQ’s etc. and details about the bicycle/moped rental they offer, again we didn’t use the bikes/mopeds but we would definitely just cycle if we were to ever return. Hotel area was very quiet over the weekend as it’s surrounded by offices, we weren’t disturbed by people going to work during the week but with Schipol in close proximity the planes were a little noisy if the window was open, we just turned the air-con on.
