"The best "
Best choice of our trip. The villa was very clean...toilet and shower also great...far enough that you don't hear other person... Pool was fantastic. ...and all this also included a free breakfast. . Villa quite spacious. .... Best place to stay. .. Staff very friendly and helpful. .. See you again i hope!
"Value for money; Great service"
We stayed for about 7 nights in the same villa. Pros: Layout of the villa was really beautiful. Bedroom and bathroom were roomy, bed was big, relatively comfy. Private pool was conveniently right outside the bedroom. Lots of privacy. Good breakfast spread everyday. Room was generally clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful in giving information about the area. Good location to Seminyak town. Cons: Villa needs a little maintenance. Some wear and tear on the wood fixtures around the villa. Water in the pool was cloudy and some tiles in the pool were cracked. Bed spreads had small holes - biggest hole sized of a AU10 cent coin. Swear we were not looking for these holes but it was facing right up on the bed and I should have taken a picture of it. Bath towels were fraying. No face towels which would be super handy in the humid heat. Overall, a value for money accommodation (if you are not fussy about the nitty gritty) given that its a private villa stay around a nice area. But I wouldn't recommend this for a longer than 3 night stay. It would be best to venture other parts of the Island.
"Well positioned if you want to escape the business of Seminyak, but tired villas"
Stayed for nearly three weeks with the inlaws. Villa reception communication re booking and transfers was impeccable. Check in was speedy. First view of the villas as a seasoned veteran of villa stays in seminyak was disappointing. While the concept is a good one, the interiors are tired and not that clean. The first thing i did was go shopping for cleaning product to clean the villas and buy some sarongs to cover the stained and grubby cushions (there is a souvenir shop next store so easy done). Its a bit hit and miss scoring a car into seminyak proper with the villa but there are heaps of cabs about and theyre inexpensive. the breakfast isnt worth wasting time on, go into Biku. The villa is really close to classic faves Metis Sardine and new fave Barbacoa, and not far from Mama San or the shopping in seminyak. there is a great laundry about a km up the street with next day service too. On the plus side, the bathroom is included within the airconditioned space, which really comes in handy!
These villas were no good. My wife and i booked for 7 nights however we left after 3 nights to stay somewhere else. Towels were fraid and dirty, walls were filthy, sheets were stained, and didn't want to sit on the couches as they had alot of dubious stains on it. Not what you would expect from a 5 star $300 plus a night villa.
"Don't waste your money"
My partner and I planned to stay at the Astana Batubelig for 2 weeks in April 2017. This Villa was booked through Expedia (it is no fault of Expedia what so ever they are an extremely helpful booking company) we paid well over $2000.00 Australian dollars to stay here. We paid more money as when we saw the photos online the Villa looked phenomenal, new, clean and well looked after. When we got to the Villa it was the complete opposite we were absolutely shocked. The Villa was run down, stains on everything, bed sheets, pillows, lounges, curtains, dining chairs, it was extremely dusty and there was copious amounts of mould in the bathroom. We slept on beach towels that we packed from home as no matter how many times in the 3 DAYS that we stayed there and the sheets were changed daily there was ALWAYS stains on something. We decided to stay for 4 nights and then leave as the villa was worse than what we expected. On our 3rd night we had about 5-7 lizards, 3 cockroaches and a huge cricket inside our villa, they got in due to the large gaps underneath the sliding doors. We were fed up and got a half hearted apology from the staff. I assume this has happened before as there was zero upgrade and nothing from management to make our stay any better. We had to fork out an extra $2000.00 Australian dollars to stay at a much nicer hotel which is 10x more accommodating than what the Astana Batubelig is. We chose to stay elsewhere as we did not want to stay in horrible accommodation for the remainder of our stay because it was an incredible let down, and we would be happier to stay at much nicer and cleaner accommodation. We understand our booking was non refundable but for only staying 3 nights we were happy to pay for the services rendered to the Astana Batubelig, we went through Expedia to see if we were able to get the rest of our money back but Astana Batubelig declined our refund. We think this is absolutely ridiculous. If I were the owner I would make sure the guest is happy and clearly knowing that the Villa is not at all what it is advertised for would refund the guest the rest of THEIR money! We are absolutely appalled by this service and we do not recommend for anyone to stay here. Please read ALL reviews on every booking page possible before you go ahead and book any hotel. We were under the impression that previous guests were being picky but this was not the case at all.
