"The BEST place to stay in Athens"
Try and upgrade yourself to the Club Executive suites as they offer luxury breakfast, nibblies and canapés throughout the day as well as a full bar. Well worth the extra you have to pay to stay at the Intercontinental. The staff on the 8th floor all the way down to the cleaning ladies are fantastic and ensure your stay is etched in your memory. Rooms are clean & spacious, the beds are sleep heaven and the bathrooms are state of art, with everything you could possibly need at your service. There are people who do smoke in their rooms DESPITE it being a non smoking hotel, so make sure if you are anti-smoking that you have them give you a non smoking room. We were changed immediately and respected the staff for going out of their way to accommodate us. I do hate even the slightest whiff of smoke in my hotel room. The view of the Acropolis from the terrace is outstanding!!!!!
"Wonderful stay "
Lovely hotel with all IHG standards. Our three nights stay was well enjoyed with its lovely restaurants, spa, pool and room service. Great selection on breakfast buffet for guests. Very close to all Athens historic sites. Hotel shuttle bus is very useful.
"Large standard rooms"
Nice hotel with large rooms. The service levels are good. However, the shower in my room was broken and did not function properly. Parked my hire car outside the hotel but unfortunately it was broken into!!!!!
"Great Hotel in the middle of Athens."
As the last point of our trip in Greece we arrived (with a previous reservation) to this hotel. All of the hotel services was excellent especially the Dining room breakfast. the service was Top service we fill that we have a personal waiter and also the food. In one word: Go there.
"Nice option if you need a pool"
We changed our accommodation at the last minute to stay at the InterContinental Athenaeum. Why' Because it had a pool and after 4 weeks in the Greek Isles and Turkey when the temperatures were 30C plus we decided a pool was essential. It was nice to come back to the hotel after a busy day sightseeing to take a dip in the pool. The hotel is between the city centre and the port areas so would have been very ell placed for the Olympics. They do run a shuttle bus into the city area which was appreciated and well patronised. The surrounding area is interesting with lots of automotive businesses between the hotel and the city area, think repairs, car hire and the like, There is a tram stop abut 5 minutes walk away which was handy. Close to Hytra (restaurant) and Deliolanis of Athens (enjoy the best ice-cream here!!). The room was spacious and well appointed, wi-fi would have been extra had it not been for our Hilton membership.
