"Tropical oasis of calm"
We had a five night stay at Ayara and had a wonderful time. Nestled on a hill overlooking Surin beach and the sea beyond, it was a view of which I could never tire. We had the deluxe courtyard suite (809) which was a great size and includes an lovely outdoor shower area which is always such a draw for someone from cold, damp northern Europe. Even though the terrace of the suite is a good size and you could spend some of the day laying in the sun, we spent most of the time by the pool, which is very nice, although as others have pointed out is right next to the road. However, you tend to zone out of any noise. Price of the drinks is fair and during happy hour (after 4pm) very reasonable. Breakfast is good and the service from the staff very friendly and relatively efficient. As part of our package we had a credit for use in the Spice poolside restaurant. One day we chose to have lunch there. Very disappointing. I chose the crab burger, which was a mass produced breadcrumbed coated concoction deep fried and in a bun. Shame, there are all the ingredients to make this in Phuket and so it could have been something really good. On our last night we opted for more local type fair in the restaurant, trio of curries which was reasonably good. Still I think the restaurant needs an overhaul as if you are going to charge western prices you really need to offer something extra over local, cheaper and better quality offers. That aside I would highly recommend Ayara as it is an antidote to the usual chain hotels that are scattered all over Phuket.
"Best for couples "
Good seaview with beautiful sunset. Quiet environment (adults only) for couples to enjoy and relax. Very near Surin Beach, a beautiful beach that you could spend a whole day enjoying the sun, sand and sea. Definitely recommend it to couples for honeymoon or celebrating anniversaries. Not to mention, all the staffs are very helpful and nice.
"This deserves 6 stars!"
We loved every minutes of our 11 nights here. Initially we had a Super Deluxe Courtyard suite (809) which was beautiful and we would have been happy staying there the whole time. It was very spacious, with the biggest bed I have ever seen and outdoor courtyard shower as well as indoor bathroom. Absolute luxury. It had a great view over Surin Beach. But having seen the photos of the hilltop villa with infinity pool we asked if we could upgrade for our last 5 nights there. What an amazing villa! We stayed in villa 833 which was the highest of the units, and had a view over Surin Beach as well as further to Bang Tao beach. We had plenty of sun on our outdoor areas all day although we mostly just sat in the pool looking at the amazing view. With one wing for bedroom, bathroom and dressing room, and another wing across the pool for lounge, dining and sink, tea and coffee (including a coffee pod machine) it was out of this world. All the staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It is built up a hill so quite steep but there is always a 'buggy' (actually a Mitsubishi ute with canopy and seating in the back) for the trip up the hill. Walking down was enjoyable through the beautiful gardens but a but steep going back up! We couldn't fault Ayara Hilltop and would not hesitate to stay again. If your budget can stretch to at least a couple of nights in the hilltop villa you won't regret it and it topped off what was a very relaxing and wonderful holiday. One morning we were so relaxed we didn't go down for breakfast and the concerned staff rang to check we were ok! The included breakfast was also excellent, with a wide range of foods to suit all tastes. We ate at Spice restaurant too and found it very good, and also used the spa which was very professional.
"Wonderful Hotel and Service"
This was one of our hotel choices for our honeymoon. You cannot go wrong here. The rooms are amazing! We had an outdoor shower and a jacuzzi on our balcony. It is very private! The breakfast was unbelievable; lots of options for every taste. The drinks by the pool are greatly priced with lots of options. This is also located on one of the nicest beaches in Phuket; not crowded but not desert, it has a great vibe! The hotel also has golf carts to take you up to your room and to the beach. I 100% recommend Ayara Hilltops!
"Very nice hotel!"
We stayed at Ayara Hilltops Resort and Spa for three nights and had a really good time. We had the junior suite and it was awesome! Also the standard rooms look very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. One night we had issues to unlock the apartment with the key, but when we told the receptionist, we had immediately 3 persons looking for the problem. After a short time we were able to get in the room again. That's good problem management! The breakfast was a great choice and very tasty. We could also recommend the Spa there. Certainly the massages are more expensive than on the beach, but it's not comparable, as the treatments are in nice and clean rooms with trained staff. It's worth the money. We can absolutely recommend this hotel and would come around again.
