Recently built, Ayre Hotel Gran Vía enjoys a privileged location in Plaza de España, next to Montjuic Castle, one of the most popular tourist spots in Barcelona. The hotel is also conveniently located close to the business centre of Barcelona, the "Zona Franca", and only 15 minutes from Barcelona airport.
"One week stay in a double room"
One of the best hotels i stayed in! Fair price for the quality you get, and the perfect location. The rooms are spacious and clean. You can enjoy a wide breakfast buffet or a quick express one. And the staff are always present to help you!
"Quiet and Clean"
This is not the four seasons. But for a centrally located hotel , it checked off all of the boxes. This is a four star hotel in plaza espana. My boyfriend and I went on holiday to Barcelona and got this hotel as part of a packaged deal. Boy, were we delighted. 1. Location- We liked that it was not in the most touristy part. It felt like the area was alive and is a major transport hub.We were able to take the metro anywhere and it was two blocks from the hotel. Plus, the hotel is near the 'Magic fountains' and many tourist areas, just a few metro stops from La Rambla and La Bario. 2. Cleanliness 3. Quiet These are THE two most important features when I travel. Our room was so quiet. We did not hear any one including the housekeeping (which is a pet peeve of mine at hotels especially early in the morning when I am trying to sleep on holiday!). We had a view of the city and I would recommend this over the courtyard which seemed like you were staring in other people's windows. We did not hear the street traffic from the 6th floor very much and it was a non-issue The housekeepers did a wonderful job and the hotel was spotless. It was so nice to come back every day and have the room in tip top condition. 4. Breakfast- the buffet is truly great. There is enough variety that every breakfast can be very different for a week. They had a lot of local Spanish foods as well- meats, cheeses in addition to yoghurt, eggs, sausage, bacon, different breads, wonderful pastries etc etc. Also cava! 5. Amenities- these is no pool and a small restaurant. But we were in Barcelona to explore the city. If you want a resort, then this is not the hotel for you. It is a great urban hotel to explore the city. The rooms are modern, slightly sparse, but nice. I noted that there were a lot of Europeans staying at the hotel- A mix of business travelers, people for conventions, and tourists. Not a lot of Americans. 6. Improvements- the mattress was ok. The pillows way to firm for my liking. We didnt ask for others though 7. Summary- All in all, we give them a 5 star rating. We enjoyed the location, quiet, and cleanliness.
Very comfortable hotel. Service was excellent and the food excellent as well. Will recommend to anyone looking for comfortable accommodation. Great location, close to many attractions. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
"Location AND Service"
As part of a Go Ahead tour I spent a week at this hotel. The staff was excellent, all spoke English and were able to help me navigate the city with maps and easy to understand directions. The Restaurant and its staff was also excellent. The buffet breakfast is one of the best I've seen. The dinner menu was delicious. My room was clean, updated and had everything I needed for a comfortable week. I had an "inside" room and it was very quiet. Air conditioning was great and the bathroom was modern and newly updated. Wifi in my room was on of the best I've encountered in my travels, and it's free! The location of the hotel is terrific. Near public transportation and several attractions and shopping. I would stay here again any time!
"Not worth the Price"
Stayed 3 nights at this hotel last week. The first thing you notice is the the room is quite bare and doesn't look like at 4 star Hotel. The room is bare minimum with TV hanging on the wall. Refrigerator is empty and the safe don't work. Not kettle or tea or coffee bags provided in the room. If you need hot water, you need to go to the ground floor to collect yourself. However, the room is quite big. Breakfast is average. During breakfast, the staff don't clear your table leaving it with full of empty used plateThe bed quality is a low.Location wise is quite good. Shopping is convenience as Arena is just opposite. Would not stay here again
