"COMO peace as always"
Second stay at the COMO phuket. Excellent service, superb design, amazing view, as always. I really like the design of the hotel that makes me feel relaxed and at home. I have tried the SPA for a Thai massage, if it was excellent, it is a bit pricy for my taste (around 150USD for 60 min) The kids club is very big and very nice, just a shame you cannot drop your kid below 4, at 3 it should be possible... The Thai restaurant is my favourite, food is excellent. The Italian restaurant is a bit disappointing. Breakfast is good but I have said that one and I reiterate : I think Thant limiting one choice of a large carte is disappointing: for instance, I have eggs and I would love to have some sweet pancakes as well. Not possible! Also the healthy options are nice to have, but a good fatty pancake sometimes makes happiness! Service at the pool is great, and make us feel like important guests. One note; the floor at the pool needs maintenance and some screws/loose wooden piece have to be looked after promptly, I have a kid and it is dangerous sometimes. Last piece, the beach club is very nice, but I find the trip to the pier a bit Long. Nothing we can change on this, the boat has been improved vs the last I came and the sea trip is shorten now. It will take around 45-1.00 to go to the beach, though. I’ll be back ! Thanks COMO team! Nota: i have also done complimentary Yoga which was great !
"Epected too much.."
We stayed at one of the Como resorts in Maldives a couple of years ago and we really enjoyed it. So we decided to try another Como experience in our favourite place, Phuket. (We usually stay at Marriott resorts in Mai Khao area) From the TA guest reviews and our previous experience at another Como resort, we expected too much from this resort. Our review, Room3/5-We stayed at villa 1025, which had two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a cloak room(small toilet) and kitchen area. It was much smaller than we’d expected. It had a descent sized pool, but the view wasn’t great as a large tree stands just in the middle, blocking the beautiful ocean view. Food4/5-breakfast was ok, but not as good as other resorts in the same class.Thai restaurant offered nice food with good selection of beer and wine. The portion was generous. (Three of us ordered 3 starters, 3 mains with 2 sides to share plus puddings, which was a little bit too much for us) We also had some pizza (in room dining) which was really good. Service6/10-sometimes painfully slow, but it’s how things work in Phuket. We didn’t really mind. BUT is Thailand not a land of smile'' Some snooty receptionists hardly ever showed a smile:(. And when we mentioned on the booking form that we were travelling to Phuket for our 20th wedding anniversary, they kindly offered to give us something to celebrate. But we don’t know yet what it actually was, because we didn’t get anything.. Spa4/10-I’ve experienced luxury spas at five star resorts in Asia and US including Hawaii, etc and Como Shambhala spa in Maldives was so far the best. So I was so looking forward to having a spa massage. Unfortunately, this spa was a huge disappointment. The entrance had no relaxed ambience at all. My local swimming pool looks much nicer than that! Dull, dark room with restless receptionists who had no interest in looking after you, but selling you more services. I wasn’t even offered pre-treatment drink, which I normally get at any kind of spas. Worst of all is that there was no private changing rooms, so I had to change into my gown in front of lockers, while other ladies were passing by..Unbelievable! I must say the manner and technique of my therapist was of the ‘Como Shambhala’ class. Overall6/10-Majority of the guests are from one country where people don’t speak normally and can shout at each other without considering other guests. I’m not saying here that they shouldn’t stay at this kind of resort. I respect their culture, but they also should respect other guests, too. We hired a sala at the beach club, as someone mentioned on their review that a ‘nice nap is guaranteed in the private sala, hearing the sound of the oceans..’ well, all we did hear was those people shouting each other from all directions. We are still a big fan of Como resorts and keen to explore elsewhere, but we’ll definitely go somewhere else when we go back to Phuket.
"Another great COMO hotel!"
I was in Phuket for work and had a weekend to myself so I decided to check out the Como Point Yamu. The staff are amazing and the Thai restaurant alone is worth a stay / visit. I've stayed at a number of Como properties and they are consistently amazing!!
The hotel/ resort is located at a secluded point of Yamu. The views are amazing. The hotel has a shuttle service which takes you to a private beach. The spa is amazing and a must visit. The staff arranged for a day tour for us with a tour guide, which was an icing on the cake!
"Stunning hotel well suited for adults and children"
We stayed at the Como for 4 nights and it was truly stunning. The room décor and views were beautiful and the service always the right level of attentive but you were left alone to enjoy. They had an amazing Beach Club a short commute away that was perfect for us. We have an 18month old and the hotel and beach club were both great to keep her and us entertained. A truly magnificent experience, will definitely be back!
