The hotel is located in the heart of Venice, two minutes walking distance from St Mark's Square and shopping and cultural area.
We recently stayed at this Hotel and we enjoyed our first experience of Venice. It was located in a perfect position facing the Grand Canal on one side with access to the Gondolas on another side and access to luxury shops at another. We were so close to San Marcos Square and the Doges Palace a 5 min walk was all it took. The Hotel has a boat that takes you across and to Giudecca Island and then takes you back at set times during the day. We found the staff very polite and helpful and the breakfast on the terrace facing the Grand Canal was amazing - so much choice!
"GREAT HOTEL BUT BYO IRON!"
My family and I stayed at this hotel during the month of July. The hotel itself is beautiful and in a wonderful location, so close to Saint Mark's square. It's a 5 star hotel in a 5 star location! The rooms were very spacious and clean. Breakfast is delightful, and overlooks the magical grand canal. However, the fact that there was no iron available was very poor. They said it was due to 'Italian safety regulations' (other hotels we have been to in Italy supplied irons). I believe this is a price gauging tactic, as they offered laundry services. For example, a shirt is £30. A big rip off! Overall, this was a wonderful hotel in a great location. Just BYO iron!
I stayed 2 days at this hotel recently. This hotel could not have been in a better location. It was right on the canal and hundreds of gondalas were passing by with singers and tourists, it was a very fun exciting location especially when having breakfast on their terrace, it doesn't get better then this. This hotel was right around the corner from St Mark square and great shopping and many restaurants. I had a superior room with a side view of a canal, it was very nice. Just a couple of minor issues, when checking in there was no one at the check in desk and when they were bringing up the luggage to our 3 rooms all the luggage was being sent to wrong room so I carried my own luggage in no big deal. When checking out it was early in the morning and I had a water taxi waiting. I prepaid my room using hotel.com but there was a balance, first he showed mt 75 Euro for room service breakfast, I told him I didn't have room service breakfast but had breakfast in the dining room, this took about 10 minutes for him to take this off the bill. Then he gives me a bill for 1500 Euro, I told him my room was prepaid. Now water taxi driver was yelling at us because we were holding him up, the situation was getting tense as I had a train to catch. Finally he figured out he had the wrong room, I gave him the key when checking out so it wasn't a communication issue. Mistakes happen, I get it, this was a great hotel but this was a tense moment. I would stay here again.
"Great stay in Venice"
Kudos to the Bauer hotel for a wonderful three night stay last week! Everything about the hotel was top-notch and luxurious! Staff including front desk, bell man, concierge and housekeeping staff were excellent. Many, many thanks for the lovely upgraded room as well! We will definitely stay again on our next trip to Venice! Thanks again
If studying mosquitos is your thing, then this is the hotel for you. On the other hand if you hate being bitten by them look elsewhere. I was given a narrow poky room, which I suppose was an ideal breeding place for them. Definitely not what you expect for your $450 a night. The hotel is handily located next to the ferry stop, so escape is relatively easy. This place is definitely over-priced for what you get and in comparison with equivalent luxury hotels.
