"Possibly the best place to breakfast in Venice"
Okay, you can take the normal five-star stuff for granted but what really makes this hotel is the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal where you can breakfast watching the gondolas, with the occasional aria, pass by and all the jostle of waterside Venice. Very obliging staff .
Had a great time at this hotel. Excellent location in an upscale area opposite the grand canal and near St. Marcs square. Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Very nice breakfast area on the canal. Would definitely recommend it for people looking for a quiet classical hotel.
"A Superb Old School Five Star Hotel"
This is the kind of hotel every hotel should aspire to emulate. My family had stayed there 15 years ago, and just returned from our second trip. It's older, classic, and the rooms aren't shiny and new, but we love the old world style style, and the service is peerless. The concierges are awe inspiring, with recommendations, restaurant reservations, and coordinating anything you can think of. We left the hotel at 5:15 AM this morning, and our water taxi was ready and waiting to take us to the airport, with the staff standing nearby, coordinating it all. It's not cheap, and it's not brand-new and shiny, but it's as great an old world five star hotel as you could ask for in this day and age.
"Wonderful hotel in the heart of Venice"
Beautiful rooms and bathrooms. Immaculately clean. Staff delightful and helpful. Breakfast served on fabulous terrace looking onto Grand Canal. Such a wonderful sight in the morning. So many boats and gondaliers getting their gondolas prepared.
"Alleged 5 star"
Stayed at Bauer Palazzo for two nights, a very traditional hotel but looking very tired, certainly not five star. Location central and very good, probably it's best point. Buffet breakfast rather poor, they had cold hard boiled eggs and scrambled eggs being kept warm under heated lights. I asked for a single fried egg which duly came at an extra over cost of 12 euros. What a rip off, who do these people think they are. Safety standards poor and in fact dangerous, overall not recommended.
