The Beach Palace is a great resort with very nice amenities. My wife and I went with friends and had a great time. Amazing views, great pool and the Jacuzzi in the room was a very nice bonus. We had a great time and the spa is phenomenal, I would recommend their signature massage the Kukulkan Mayan. All I can say is wow so relaxing and renewing. In my wife's and my opinion the best restaurant is Bocelli, with great Italian. Tequila is an average buffet style restaurant for lunch and dinner but they have a great breakfast buffet with made to order omelets, waffles, fried eggs, great salsas, etc. The snack foods by the pool were our favorite choice for lunches with great fish and steak tacos. On the down side the resort does need to be remodeled it is a little tired and it shows, the first room we were in phones were off of the wall and did not work, wood trim looked well worn from the salt air. Also, we found the service to be a somewhat slow throughout the resort however they were very friendly and went out of their way to please you when they were serving you. I would not recommend their presentation for buying in to the Palace resorts, it took 2 hours and they would then allow you to use your all of your resort credits for the Spa or other non published activities. The problem with this was it took 4 more hours of work to book the spa treatments and or activities and actually get the credits released for use, so a mostly wasted day. Yes we would stay at the Palace resorts again as we did love it but we would not stay at the Beach Palace again until it is remodeled.
"Want to be Wowed' Then this is it!"
I don't understand some of the negative review's of this resort. We all know that the 2% of people gripe without any purpose other than just want to groat and moan about their experience. Oh Well I say This is a Super Place to stay if you want to be pampered. Rooms are very clean. Room service impeccable. Stayed on top floor beach view for an awesome spectacular daily view. All restaurants were awesome. Now the steak restaurant service was not well received...guess waiter had a bad day so I tipped him one peso. (not supposed to tip but I did cause the services were exceptional. Beach was rough so I only stayed in water for about 30 min. My brother was about to be swept ed away and the quick action of the life guard came to help before a bad situation could be had .Kudos to his alertness and caring for resort members. Place could do for some makeovers, BUT well maintained never the less. A place to be Wowed and Pampered. It's Beach Palace
"In. Room. Jacuzzi."
Beach Palace is a phenomenal resort with an even more amazing staff. I know the title of the review mentions something about a jacuzzi and we'll get to that later but first and foremost, let's talk about the staff. The staff alone makes a stay at Beach Palace such a wonderful experience. From check in to check out and everything in between, the staff is so incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. This is a world class group of individuals who remembers your name, knows your needs and is ready to cater to them. From the bellhops (Hola, Enrique!) at the front who greet you by name and knows when you need to head out to airport, the incredible servers who knows what you need before you even need it (Andres, here's looking at you), to the best massage I've ever gotten at Awe Spa (Gracias, Melia!), this is just the most incredible service I've ever received at any hotel property. I simply can not say enough great things about the team Beach Palace has in place so let me just say, thank you. Thank you for everything and I hope to see everyone again soon! Now. On to the jacuzzi. Or should we say, into it' I mean come on, a jacuzzi for two in your room. I'm never leaving. My girlfriend and I stayed at Beach Palace for five days/four nights and not one day did we not use the jacuzzi. Talk about complete luxury in Paradise! Picture this. You wake up whenever you feel like (you're on vacation, sleep in a bit), you open the French doors to your own balcony and take in the sun, you come back in and get the jacuzzi ready as you brush your teeth. The tub is ready. You hop in and soak for a bit while you get your game plan going for the day. Maybe you've booked an excursion out to Chichen Itza (it is a UNESCO World Heritage site after all). You come back after a long day of checking out some Mayan ruins and what's waiting for you in your room' That's right. Your in room jacuzzi. You grab a glass of vino and get the tub going again. You hop in and soak away until it's time to get ready for bed and start all over again. Welcome to paradise. Welcome to Beach Palace.
"felt like family"
stayed for 3 days with my wife and 2 children. food was fantastic. pool and beach area immaculate. every day they made us feel like family. i am in sales, and i was sold. these people love the their job and they are good at it. my only gripe was the hotel credits. no value at all to me. this place takes the cake. ive been all over the world at very nice places. this was my favorite.
"A fantastic vacation for all!!!"
We stayed at Sun Palace for our 25th anniversary two years ago. This year we stayed at Beach Palace for my 50th birthday and our son's 25th. We brought our daughter, her husband and their 4 children (3, 5, 9, 11). Beach Palace is older than Sun, and the rooms need some minor updating but do not let that sway you from not going there. The beds were soft. I generally like a soft bed but these were slightly too soft for me- trust me not a reason to not go back. The rooms were very clean and the housekeeping staff cleaned in the morning and turned down the beds at night. There were also staff cleaning the pool and beach areas all day. The Beach Palace is small but perfect size for all of us. There is one main pool, two smaller pools (one with swim up bar) a jacuzzi and pool with slide for all ages. On skybar level- there are two jacuzzi's and two swim up bar pools. There were four restaurants, sports bar, and spa. We visited the Moon Palace while the guys went golfing and within 1 hour, the kids and adults wanted to go back to Beach. The beach is dark which reminded us of our Northeast waters. Moon facilities, other than the beach, are absolutely beautiful and has 14 restaurants and multiple pools but you lose the intimacy you develop with the staff at Beach. It truly is amazing that the Beach staff, from beach/pool staff, restaurant staff, guest services, and entertainment staff remembers so many visitors. A special shout out to Lucy and the rest of the entertainment staff. They truly made the days exciting and eventful. My husband, son, and son-in-law looked forward to the beach volleyball games at 11am and 4pm. They also had plenty of other activities for adults and the kids. The night time shows were fantastic- especially the pirate show. I have read some reviews that say Beach is more for kids. While it was the perfect place for our kids and there were plenty of children, there were other areas you could sit on the beach, by the pool or at skybar where there were less children. My husband and I are already planning another visit with just us. A very, very special shout out to Yadira, one of many exceptional wait staff at the pool. She took great care of all of us at the pool area for all of our stay. She refreshed our drinks without us having to ask, and remembered each of our favorite beverages- even the kids. She was kind and concerned when the youngest wasnt feeling good, checking on him and offering her support. I know all the wait staff are great but she truly is one of a kind. The food was good to unbelievably good. We went to the Wok three times and the Steak House two times. These two were the majority favorites. The food was incredible, and the staff were very accommodating. The kids loved the mac and cheese, and no matter which restaurant we were in they made it available. The Italian restaurant was nice but not our favorite. No particular reason - just overrated and not a lot of variety. The buffet had options for all meals. Yes, there are weddings but they never got in the way of us getting a table or being served, and there were 9 of us. It was nice to be able to see the ceremonies when they were on the beach or on the terrace. We used our credits on golf for 3, spa treatments for 3, and some gifts and in total only paid approximately $200 in taxes. Not bad at all- the spa treatments were 130 minutes each and the guys said the golf course was pristine. The one thing to keep in mind is if you dont like to use elevators there are 12 floors and the stairs are primarily used by staff, not visitors. Although it was clean, you did feel that you were using the service staircase. There are 4 elevators but they can be very slow when everyone is trying to use them at once. We were fortunate to get a room on the first floor (which is actually the third floor) so it wasn't too bad. We returned home last night, and are already missing the Beach Palace for it's breathtaking beach, plentiful amenities, and superb staff. We will be back!!!!
