"Modern hipster hotel"
My stay at Boca Design was short but sweet. Ultra modern, hip, cool style, with a twist for Soccer fans. The motifs, the beautiful soccer murals on the walls and in the colors of the Argentinan soccer team. A very comprehensive breakfast and fabulous lap pool. A huge thanks to Melania at the front desk who was very friendly and helpful. I will return.
"Good bar/restaurant close early"
Good accomodation, nice and modern with Gym, Spa, Pool and good breakfast. Large and silent room. Good for an short or long stay. Bathroom is also large and modern. Problem is restaurant/bar. At sunday they close very early so you must find something outside but close to the hotel during the weekend is all closed. So 15 min. walk or taxi for find something.
"A good choice overall, but wait until area construction i over and take care in health club"
Just completed a four-nite stay. The Good: The room (in our case, a suite) was spacious, quiet and clean with plenty of open surfaces and electrical outlets. The bed was firm and comfortable. Wifi was strong and reliable. The breakfast food was hearty and plentiful. The staff was pleasant and helpful; the room was initially so poorly lit that it was impossible to read, so I asked for another lamp and one was delivered to the room promptly. The Bad: Others have mentioned that room service operates only during the day, but the two bigger negatives worth noting are the location and the fitness center. The streets surrounding the hotel were about the dodgiest we encountered in BA four days. Making that worse is that the immediate area is undergoing what appears to be a long-term road construction project, so getting to the hotel is dicey; cabs cannot always easily drive up to it, so you might have to walk 2 blocks with your bags on very torn-up, uneven, narrow sidewalks. Re: the fitness center, the website touts the hotel's lap pool, but it keeps very limited hours and opens only at 9 -- if you're lucky. The first morning, it opened at 9:30, the second at 12:30. The pool itself is covered in a glossy dark cobalt blue tile -- a serious safety issue, since it's almost impossible to tell when you're approaching the wall to avoid hitting your head. The flooring outside the shower stalls is like a slip-and-slide when wet (and, given the shower design, it becomes a big puddle.) So I'd advise staying at this hotel only after the major street work is done -- and then just be very, very careful in the health club.
"Interesting decor and great location!"
We stayed here two nights while in Buenos Aires. What a great place! Very chic décor (Boca Juniors theme) which was fun. Breakfast was great, staff were friendly (everyone spoke enough English that it made it easy for us who speak no Spanish), and the rooms were spacious, well decorated, and very comfortable (loved the shower and Jacuzzi tub!) The only downside was the room service stopped before 6pm, and the restaurant wasn't open in the evening, but there are places not too far away and if you don't want to go out they will order pizza for you from the local pizza place (I don't recommend that as it took more than 2 hours and was cold when it arrived). Great location for walking around.
The hotel was booked as part of a travel package so we didn't know what to expect. The staff was friendly and the room was large and well maintained. We only stayed one night so we did not use any of the onsite amenities. I did find the larger than life soccer players as decor a bit odd.
