"Best hotel I've ever been to"
They really can't do enough for you here ! Me and partner even had congratulatory balloons and chocolates in our room for our engagement, they brought round complimentary fudge to the room. Spa was fantastic, staff were fantastic and the overall trip was amazing. We had the calm package which included dinner and breakfast etc! Worth every penny and will be booking here again !
"Wonderful couples retreat (plus dog)"
My girlfriend and I opted for the Sunday Spa deal which included an hours treatment, 3 course meal in the gallery restaurant, room and breakfast. From the moment we arrived the staff were super friendly and couldn't do enough to help us, they even dropped in to check our dog was ok while we were in the spa and took her for a walk. I can't recommend this place enough and we didn't have a single thing we could fault. We stayed in the courtyard room as they are dog friendly but also had a look round some of the other rooms on check out. The Elizabeth suite is probably our favourite four poster room as seems lighter and more airy. The royal suite is lovely and has a huge hot tub outside but two people in there and it might feel a bit big, the other suite has a smaller hot tub but with the Gaia spa I'm not sure it's necessary to have a private hot tub unless you really want some privacy!. Overall we loved every minute of our stay and while we generally don't visit the same place twice we hope to stay here again in the near future.
"Excellent all round."
Spent three nights here in a Courtyard Room. Much better than some previous reviews have suggested. Only slightly negative was noisy floors above so next time I would ask for an upstairs courtyard room. Delicious fudge at turn - down. Breakfast was excellent with great staff. Kyle was especially friendly, though only saw him the once. Had dinner one night in the Wembury which didn't quite live up to expectations. Nothing wrong but not the wow factor we expected - they probably save that for the other restaurant. The highlight of the stay was the amazing spa. Didn't have treatments but the pools, steams, saunas and hot tubs were great. After each visit went onto the roof to have a drink with views over the countryside. You could also eat there but we didn't bother. Again staff were excellent. All in all it's extremely good value for the stay and we wouldn't hesitate to return.
We stayed on a 2 night summer spa package and had a lovely time. The spa was incredible and especially the outside area which came into its own on such a lovely sunny weekend. Great pools and steam/sauna rooms. Treatments were excellent too. Spatisserie offered a beautiful setting and a healthier menu plus good timely service. Couldn't fault it. Rooms were spacious and cool, beds comfy and lovely extras such as the coffee machine and fudge! The only issue was very slow service in the gallery restaurant and below average (for a 5 star hotel) food.i did enjoy the starters and detests but the fish was very overbooked as was the ravioli it was served with. We sat down to eat at 9.30 as was late because of traffic and didn't leave until nearly midnight. I was nearly falling asleep in my desert. Such a shame as it wasn't a cheap dinner and wasn't included in our package. Also has breakfast here on departure day and unfortunately my poached eggs were hard and swimming in grease. I wish I had of had my breakfast on the spatisserie both days.
