Staying here solo, got very narrow small room but quite charmy with a window just to the medieval street. OK breakfast is usually included and the hotel is right in the centre. Toledo is a nice destination to stay here at least overnight!
"A "V"ery Good Hotel"
The hotel is very nice. The bedsheets and bath towels are white and clean. The toilet seems to be new. Breakfast is included too in the rate. We had to catch an early train and taxi is just one minute call away. To the train station is about 6 euro and from station to hotel about 7 euro. It's easier to catch a taxi from the train station than trying to look for a bus stop. A long queue of taxis await the visitors to their town.
"Convenient and friendly base for a fascinating city"
We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel which is very conveniently located. The room was clean and modern, the breakfasts good but there were two things that stood out. First was the young lady on reception who was extremely helpful and friendly, giving us lots of useful advice with all our restaurant visits being a result of her recommendations. Secondly the roof top bar is a must, even if you don't stay here. It gives an excellent view over the city and must close but it was difficult to work out when as despite staying up late we didn't see it shut! It may be because we stayed (unknowingly) at the time of Corpus Christi, which is a big holiday festival. The bar is very popular. The hotel website includes a video showing how to get to the hotel to drop off your luggage and then the way to the nearby parking. At least one of these is a traditional garage where you may be required to leave your keys so that they can move cars about. It's normal but a little unnerving when you're not used to it. If you use this facility don't forget to get a discount voucher from the hotel each time you take the car out - it really is worth it. The video came a little unstuck through no fault of the hotel. I only had to drive into Toledo twice but on each occasion a different road was closed for a special event, making finding the hotel and garage challenging to say the least! We loved Toledo and I would be glad to visit again and I would stay at this hotel again.
Had a fantastic 3 night stay here. Hotel is 5 star and spotless. Decor is so stylish and old. Breakfast lovely. Rooof top bar a must see and enjoy the views while having a cocktail. Very well located just 2 minutes from everything. Toledo is beautiful and their tapas to die for.
"Excellent place to stay in Toledo"
Hotel Carlos V has a great location right in the heart of Toledo. We drove into the city and found it easily as it is well signposted. It is located in the corner of a small plaza. Close to the Alcazar. You turn in under an archway and you do meet a bollard - simply press the button or wait there. There is no long term parking but you can unload luggage. You then follow the road though the narrow street and rejoin the main road - and there are two car parks on the right. They are a few minutes walk away and the hotel gives you a reduction. We used both and paid cE14 a day. We preferred the Indigo car park at the bottom but both are okay. The hotel is light and airy and quite modern in decor. The reception staff are friendly and very helpful - the young lady speaks excellent English. The rooms are very clean and fresh with a recently updated air con system. We were in a corner room with a small balcony that overlooked a back street -it was quiet. Only downside was it was a bit small however we only sleep there! we thought it was great and loved the cinema themes. The bathroom was great - spacious and very clean with bath and shower over. . There was a safe, fridge and like most hotels you need to leave a key in the slot for the electric to work. There is wifi. They offer a great breakfast buffet (hot and cold foods such as eggs, bacon, meats/cheeses, cereals and fruits along with juices, hot chocolate and coffee), The thing we loved most though is this hotel has a rooftop bar. The drinks are slightly more expensive but it is worth it for the fabulous view over the city. Go up just before sunset!! This hotel is only steps away from the major sights and shops. Highly recommend and would definately stay here again. Finally, Toledo is hilly with cobbled streets - wear good shoes.
