"Can't say enough..."
I love this hotel... This staff here is so nice and I love my room with the window that goes all the way to the floor and view that overlooks the ocean. I can't say enough about how everyone on the staff at the hotel has gone out of their way to take care of me.
It's all about money to them... how can they charge more and where... the house keeping was very late. They gave our guests passes for the day with amounts to use at the pool but would not use them than

This was a returning trip to the Catalonia SDQ and of course, it did not disappoint. Everything that everyone has said about this resort is true. We got so much more than we expected. The best staff we may have ever encountered. No matter what question or request you have, it is taken care of with a smile:) The food is delicious. Stayed at room # 1411 the view was spectacular, it's a top-notch location. The place was immaculate and the cleaning of the rooms was perfect! I would and probably am going back. Definitely worth it!
As much as I love the Catalonia brand... this just seems a bad investment; back in the days when this hotel opened as Hilton, it was a very nice hotel, right now I feel that it is at its last stage of worn out, consumed by time and usage. The hotel is practically attached to a ghost commercial plaza, half abandoned and quite creepy, they even share the parking space. I figured Catalonia would have renewed the rooms, but apparently they are more focused in common areas. Everything look so old, scratched,torn out; even small details such as towels, stained, as old as probably the Hilton opening. The technology in the room is probably from the 90s, old phones, old power outlets. I paid a very low rate so I cannot complain but... I will not be back again anytime soon, not even at the lowest rate.

I stayed at the Catalonia Hotel for a few nights with my extended family where we had reserved several oceanfront rooms. I want to comment that there is no beach and you have to take a taxi or uber to get anywhere. As a sidenote, it's interesting that although the manager is Catalan, the employees are all Dominican. The staff was courteous and accommodating. The hotel, although not new, has all the amenities that you would expect in a good American hotel, so I felt very comfortable. The hotel has a decent gym, a restaurant, indoor and outdoor bar, a swimming pool and a private lounge with food and drinks for executive room guests. The breakfast buffet had a lot of variety and was very good. I liked the fact that they had an assortment of American, Dominican and European foods. The only negative comment I have to make is regarding their restaurant. I found the selection offered on the menu to be limited and somewhat pricey for what they were offering.
