"This is essentially an upscale youth hostel, justifying the prices charged in no way"
Service both at reception and in the restaurants is delivered by what appear to be gap year students, obviously inexperienced and only sometimes able to compensate with friendliness, with no management in sight. There were too many issues to recount them all but it was topped off when our luggage was delivered so late to the train station that we missed our connection home on the last day. Rooms are simple. Unfortunately, not in the minimalist but well thought through and still somehow luxurious kind of way. Instead, bathroom doors do not close, light switches protrude annoyingly from the middle of wooden head boards, bathrobes are frayed and tired, there is nowhere to sit and read… On the positive side, the location is great and facilities are clean (to the extent they exist – there is no gym or swimming pool).
"Great Experience "
We just return from our family and friends holiday . We are group of 10 between ages 8 to 45 and we all enjoy the hotel. The location is perfect for ski lovers . Also very close the town center. The Apres ski are amazing with nice drinks and live music. We were in Puro at new year night and all the food experience is a real michelin star journey. We definitely want to return this hotel The staff was amazing reception housekeeping ans service staff are all of them was very friendly and welcoming.
"Gorgeous Hotel in a great location"
My stay at Cervo was fantastic from the moment I arrived to the moment that I left. The rooms were modern and very clean and comfortable. The restaurant meals were delicious - we had a meal in a private room for our group and it was lovely to have the space to ourselves for something different. The breakfast was beautiful and the view overlooking Matterhorn was stunning - the weather even put on a snow show for us which was beautiful. The location was at the top of the hill (with a lift to get to the bottom) so the view over Zermatt was amazing. And a ski run finishes right at the door so the perfect place for apres ski before heading back to your room.
"Beautiful views, excellent service, proximity to the slopes"
My family stayed at Cervo for a week long trip to Zermatt in the end of February/early March. If and when we return to Zermatt, we will almost certainly return to Cervo. First, the location. Cervo is located very close to the Sunnega lift - you simply walk across a small road, ride down an elevator, and after a few steps you are at the lift. You can also ski basically directly up to the property (in the afternoon this gets really busy with many ending their day here and at the Cervo bar/restaurant). One note is that the bottom of the run that goes to Cervo does have one steep and very narrow section with a turn close to the bottom - because of this, depending on conditions some in my group chose to end somewhere else some days, but Cervo was still very convenient. Cervo also has an excellent locations for beautiful views of the mountains and town and the same elevator you ride down the lift takes you easily to the foot of town so you don't have to walk up and down hills to access the town. The room was also spectacular. We are particular spoiled as for one of our rooms we booked a Matterhorn view suite, which was really wonderful. We had a perfect view of the Matterhorn, a nice fireplace, breakfast table, lovely bathtub, and large deck viewing the mountains and slopes. The ambience was unmatched. Each chalet also has a spa in the bottom where there is a hot tub, sauna, steam room, and massage rooms where the hotel can arrange to have someone come in to give massages (which we enjoyed very much). They were even willing to bring a selection of breakfast items to our room if we asked the night before so we didn't have to go down to the main breakfast area, but both breakfast in our room and downstairs was wonderful and included in our rate. The hotel also has it's own ski storage room very conveniently located and free of charge with electronic access keys - it was great! Finally, the service was excellent at Cervo. We got to know several of the staff members (unfortunately some months have passed between my stay and this review so I can't mention them by name), but everyone was really friendly and helpful. I would go back in a heartbeat and we all speak fondly about our trip and stay at Cervo. Can't say enough good things and hoping to be back soon!
Hotel location is beautiful, with very nice view on the Cervin. However, service is not in line with a 4 stars + hotel. I mean, when I booked the room I mentioned that it was for the 50th birthday of my wife. I received an email mentioning that a special attention will be done. Nothing, until today. Our room was very nice, comfortable with a terrace. Unfortunately, the terrace is at 50 centimeter of the SPA. Therefore, when other customers are enjoying the sun beds, they are so near that they can share your apperitif. On a such high level restaurant, I am looking of having the plates served from my right and not seeing an arm passing in front of my face for serving other people on the table. Then, chairs on the restaurant are not comfortable. Finally, I have had to go back three times on the front desk as the bill was incorrect. Design of the room is well in line with the location. Staff is friendly. SPA area was OFF when we went there, it tooks a quite long time enjoying it. When I spend a so much amont of monney for two nights and a dinner, I am looking to have a perfect service.
