"Wonderful hotel experience"
We had a wonderful stay at Clarion Hotel Folketeateret. The breakfast is the best we've ever had. The hotel is located at a very centralized location making it easy to explore Oslo by foot. We will be back!
"Great location near train station"
We booked a triple room for 4 nights as my daughter met us in Oslo at the end if her holidays. Reception was very efficient and friendly. Room very dark ,no hanging space for clothes, not enough room for suitcases, temperature very hot and unable to adjust it. Wifi was good, tea and coffee in foyer was excellent, only went to afternoon tea once and it was ok only waffles available but for free what else do you expect. Went up one night yo look at the light dinner and it seemed ok but we had eaten. Breakfast was excellent the best array I had seen in Scandinavia in the 4 weeks we had been there. Centrally located able to walk to nearly every thing . Would stay again especially if using trains.
"Convenient and comfortable business stay"
The location is just a couple of minutes from Oslo S (central station) and is a nice break from the more typical hotels. Decor is typical "collection" style with more interesting elements. For business travelers the fact that breakfast, afternoon baked goods, and evening meal in the 7th floor lounge are included is very practical. Comfortable bed, slept well. The bathroom was nice, but dark. Not great make-up light ;) I stayed in a standard double room and the space to walk between the bed and wall was very narrow. In pictures bigger rooms don't seem to have that issue. As it's in a busy area I recommend requesting a room on a high floor. The hotel entrance is located inside a "passage way" / little shopping strip inside a building, so could be hard to find the first time.
"Small and Functional"
We were right in the heart of the action. Location wise it was great, close to the Central Station, Opera House, Theatre, etc. Lots of public transport. The room was small yet functional and kind of encouraged us to get out and see Oslo. There was no proper closet, just a place to hang our clothes. The bathroom was small. Taking a bath needed some technique in order to ensure that the water didn't spill out. Since Oslo is expensive, it helped to get free breakfast and dinner and both were sufficiently large. We did not have a room with a view but the room was clean. There is no safety locker but we some lockers are available by the reception. No choice in the room but available where breakfast is served 24 hours. There is a lounge on the 7th floor by the terrace where dinner is served. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Well located near to train station and city center. Rooms spacious although rather dark, particularly bathroom. The evening meal they say is included is an awfull mini buffet, very limited to say the least.
