"Great hotel in Oalo"
I usually stay at this hotel or The Thief when in Oslo, but lately I’ve preferred Folketeateret. It˚s more central, the breakfast is just as good and it’s more relaxed. You can get a Deluxe room here(almost like a suite) cheaper than an ordinary room at The Thief. You can walk from the Central Station, if you don’t want to get out for dinner, the meal they serve for free is quite adequate. The beds and linens are gorgeous....Kind of Love it!
good breakfast and good rooms good location easy to be in the center and also to the next train station or opera and a nice roof lounge where you can relax have a small meeting and come down from stress :)
"Beautifull, clean and very good location"
I have stayd in several Clarion hotels, this might just be my favorite. The price might seem steep, but you get what you pay for. Beautifull rooms, great location. Breakfast was excellent and even coffee was great which is rare in Scandinavia we all know :)
"Trying for style but lacking substance"
The hotel is in a shopping mall in the centre of town. Good location. Friendly reception during arrival. Rooms are vey flash. Bright red lacquer and quirky furnishings. Don't understand why hotels don't have kettles in the room. There is tea and coffee but you have to go to reception ''' Not great if you are in your dressing gown ! Night staff are non-existent. Had to go to reception after trying to call for 10 mins, then wait another 10 for the lady to finish the call. When i said I was trying to get through, she just seemed surprised ' Not great and and nit cheap either
"Well decent but expensive, and very dark rooms"
This hotel is great. Almost. It is well designed, well staffed, clean comfortable and so on as well it should be. It is also very very expensive, So its standard is not really something that needs complementing all things considered. The rooms are smart but small. However they are very badly lit. You will not be able to see anything really, other than the bed. This is a design choice and not a matter of a broken light. There is no more lights. This was annoying in both rooms (of different standards) i stayed at. Bed was really good, nice shower. Inroom fridge! A big + for me personally. Access to the location is tricky. At best. Location is good, if you are walking and carrying your luggage easily. Access by car or anything with wheels is a nightmare. And it still requires walking and carrying as the sole entrance is well down a mall like indoor alley. This is due to the city and not really the hotel, but still plays in as you will have to be able to walk and carry your everything quite far from the airport and main train station to have a comfortable check in. Parking is non existant. And a taxi will be hellish as it cant really reach the adress due to the city again. The breakfast is quite good. And staff very friendly overall. Theres no bell boy service which i found particularly strange given the higly impractical entrance layout. But This is a very good hotel and they charge you well enough and accordingly for it too ;)
