Great staff. I stayed in early July with my elderly mum who's mobility is limited and the staff could not do enough for us. Our request for room close enough to reception was honoured and it had a perfect walk in shower. The room was in 100% condition. Spotless and no sign of any wear and tear. The bathroom was huge. Everything you needed, iron board, hair dryer, kettle, tea, coffee, toiletries were all in place. The bar and lounge area is very comfortable and modern. Bar food is excellent. The breakfast offerings are very impressive. The hotel was very busy but the staff took that in their stride and there was always a clean table and a welcoming member of staff on hand. The staff are helpful and friendly. Only thing that lets it down is location. It was great to be within 5 mins walk of the train station which will take you anywhere you need to go but around the hotel itself there isn't any more shops or bars. They are all at least 20minutes to half an hour away.
"Spacious, clean, modern well-located hotel"
We visit the Clayton Hotel every year now, when we go to "Kew the Music" concerts at Kew Gardens. It's a perfect base. Very easy to find - coming from the North it's M25 and M4, then, at the end of the M4, 200 yards up Chiswick High Road and there it is, on the left. There is plenty of Pay-and-Display parking in the street outside, which is free at weekends. The Hotel also has it's own onsite private parking, but beware - this is not cheap, at £16 a night even for residents. The Hotel itself presents a spacious and relaxed foyer, with friendly staff and always a quick check-in. Our room this year was 229 - and we both agreed it was one of the best sized rooms we have had in any Hotel anywhere - the bathroom in particular was huge, nicely tiled with good quality fittings, a really good shower and a large bath, and very large, good quality towels. Really comfy bed. Effective air-con (although - this was switched off when we arrived, which we didn't notice - and there are no opening windows in the room - so the room was quite stuffy, at night, until we played with the air-con controller). This is an excellent base for access to Kew - Gunnersbury tube is about 300 yards from the Hotel, and Kew Gardens is the next stop, along the District line. Although - it is of course a quite lengthy tube ride into the City, being quite far out, but that's no bad thing. There's a selection of shops just down the road, too, including a pub, a breakfast cafe and a mini-mart - but, frankly, for bars and something to eat, just head into Kew, which is nicer. Hope this helps !
"Clayton Hotel Chiswick"
Stayed for business trip very close to BSI (British Standard Institute) walking distance to Gunnersbury train services. Neat and clean room. Breakfast service very good; Geveena took special care for both of us during our stay for each morning breakfast and ensured our needs were met. She always welcomed us with warm smile.
"Great location - generally good but some aspects could be improved"
I stay here a lot as I work in Chiswick Business Park which is a 5 minute walk away so extremely convenient. Rooms are a good size, the beds are extremely comfortable, the breakfast is decent and the staff are generally friendly. Only areas for improvement are: - I have never been 'welcomed back' or received any glimmer of recognition despite the fact I stay most weeks; - The rooms are not always as clean as they could be - particularly the bathrooms. During my last stay I noted a discarded razor blade head cover in the shower; - In some rooms the baths take an impossibly long time to fill due to lack of water pressure - literally half an hour. I have never, however, had a problem with the showers which are fine.
"Good location and modern hotel"
Stayed there both for business and pleasure. The location is quite good in Chiswick as you can easily walk through the adjacent Chiswick High Road where you would find a big selection of bars and restaurants. Also not far away from underground station. The hotel itself is modern and clean. Rooms adequately big and provide you with the amenities you would expect. Taxis need to be ordered in advance though as they do not normally have them on standby outside the hotel.
