"Excellent hotel, and it is in Chiswick"
Chiswick is my home, so it is strange to be in a hotel, and even stranger to write a review of the location. I think Chiswick is one of the best neighbourhoods in London, so I highly recommend it. BUT if you are a tourist trying to find the Tower of London and such, you might feel a little bit out of the way, although the District Line is 2 minutes from the hotel, ready to take you to Richmond or the rest of London. The Clayton is really a good hotel. I was actually pleasantly surprised. I believe the Clayton chain acquired the hotel a few years ago, and it has done some remodelling, plus the construction of a new wing. The hotel looks fresh, the rooms are large and comfortable, with very modern installations. It just feels good. The hotel has a Gym (good one), a very busy bar downstairs (did not try), and one restaurant (didn't try either. Chiswick as plenty to offer in this department). Did not try breakfast either, so, in other words, I just used the room and the Gym. Both are very good. I think the Clayton will now become my "home" in Chiswick. I will be happy to be back at any time.
We spent one night at the Clayton Hotel in Chiswick and stayed in one of their executive rooms. Check in was quick and the room was very spacious and included a fluffy robe, slippers, hairdryer, iron, sky tv, toiletries as well as tea and coffee facilities. You can order room service should you wish too. We had a little mishap with the iron in our room and the manager Mohammad went out of his way to help. His service was absolutely fantastic and definitely ten out of ten!! Our breakfast was delicious with lots of variety as well as healthy options. All the staff were polite and helpful. Overall the hotel was very clean and well kept and there are areas on the ground floor where you can sit and relax as well as a bar with a good choice of drinks and snack. I am quite fussy but I can't say I had any complaints at all and I will definitely like to return to this hotel.
"Lovely Hotel, Poor breakfast!"
Lovely hotel, greeted well on arrival to the hotel and got asked what sort of room i would. The hotel is a 2-3 min walk from Gunnersbury underground which is ideal. Room was very nice although the bathroom was a bit dark with dim lights. The Gym had a fitness room, which had a few cardio machines and a weights and fitness area. It was not a bad size and had enough for a small workout, to keep you going. The thing i did not like is the breakfast, you had to order fried eggs as there was nly scrambled on the buffet and the wait for the egg could be upto 15-20 mins which is not great when you are in a rush to get to your next destination The breakfast did not have many hot options, maybe some Hash browns would be nice' There is also some really nice places to eat on that road going towards Gunnersbury Station .. keep going past it :) Overall it is a nice hotel just needs upgrading on the breakfast in my opinion
"Superb customer service and all together experience!"
Due to a friend being a couple hours delayed I had a couple of hours to kill late at night in Chiswick. I saw the hotel and asked the receptionist if I could hang out at the lounge and was prepared to pay for wifi etc. He kindly said no need and I wasn't stuck on the street as other establishments had already shut. Due to this, I decided to book a room with my fiancee and spend my birthday at the hotel with friends. The experience could have not all together been more positive, the room great and people friendly. Having been in a managerial position myself I know you don't get this many things right unless the whole thing is working well for a reason. Only wish is perhaps more vegan options for restaurant / breakfast - 5 stars regardless. Thumbs up and a warm recommendation.
"Lovely modern hotel"
We booked the executive room and it was so spacious & luxurious. The bed and pillows were very comfortable the bathroom was huge. The hotel also smells devine, especially as you enter the lobby. Staff attentive, courteous & helpful - the best we have ever encountered in a London hotel. Breakfast plentiful & tasty. Service exceptional. It was also so relaxing to sit and enjoy a drink in the comfortable bar lounge area - no loud groups or screaming children. We would definitely return and recommend.
