"Best Place to Stay in London"
We stayed there for 10 days over the New Years Holiday and really loved the hotel. We were there for work/meetings and there is lots of seating/meeting areas to use. The WIFI was superb...no issues getting to our VPN. They have a restaurant/bar on site and the food was excellent. The tube was within a 5 minute walk (District Line) and we were in the city within 20 minutes. Lots of bus options as well. The Chiswick area has many good restaurants that allowed us to explore different parts of London. The rooms were very comfortable, and the bathrooms were large both with tubs and showers. They have a small fitness room, with 2 treadmills, a rower, bike, elliptical and free weights - not staffed but again very useable. All of the hotel staff was incredibly kind, helpful and really made the stay enjoyable! We will definitely be staying here again!
"Pleasant stay and friendly atmosphere"
I really liked the place there, i was their for the new year. the stuff are very helpful and friendly, the place is pleasant, room is very nice and clean. but the only thing was that the shower got full with water where you have to finish your shower standing on the water. still i liked the place and i would go again if i am in London. also their is a bus station directly in front of the hotel and 2 underground stations nearby.
"Pleasant hotel with very helpful staff."
We visited this hotel for a weekend away in London before Christmas. When we arrived the hotel looked very welcoming and there were some Christmas parties going on which made for a good vibe. We were checked in quickly by a helpful member of staff, who did seem unsure about how to check us in as we were on a dinner, and two breakfasts deal. We were informed that we could not have dinner in the restaurant that night as it was closed for a private function, but that we could eat our dinner in the restaurant on Saturday evening. When we got to our room it was a lovely room with a great view across towards Wembley stadium. Our room was very large and had a fabulous bathroom with a bath and a separate walk in shower. When we first entered the room it was rather cold, but we were able to warm it up using the air conditioning control. When we tried to have a bath and a shower the water was only luke warm and in order to make the bath warm enough to bathe in we had to boil lots of kettles of water to try to make the water warm enough to be comfortable - on a cold winter evening! We reported the cold water and were told that maintenance was dealing with it, but the water was luke warm again on Saturday night. On Saturday morning when we went to breakfast, which was part of our pre paid deal we were told that we did not have breakfast included. I returned to the desk with our paperwork to resolve this, and also to book our dinner as promised, in the restaurant that night, only to be told that the restaurant is never open on Friday or Saturday night, as they are mainly a corporate hotel. That evening we did have our meal in the restaurant lounge, and the meal and service was very good, but it was very difficult to find a pleasant spot to eat, as there was a party going on in the bar area, and the other seating was all sofas and low tables. Lina, a very pleasant member of staff tried to find us somewhere to sit and tried to make the situation right, but it is very odd to have no restaurant open in a hotel of this size at the weekend. We ate our meal in the middle of a large deserted area, which was made cold by the automatic doors which keep opening and closing for the smokers going outside for a cigarette. All the staff did their best to serve us well but it wasn't quite the romantic atmosphere that we had hoped for. Overall this is a very nice hotel with great, helpful staff. However if they are offering dinner, b and b packages for couples, then they need to ensure that the staff are proficient at booking these people in, and ensuring that they get what they have paid for, and look at what is available for people who want to eat. It would have been very easy to open a small section of the restaurant each night for dinners.
Stayed at this hotel on the coldest night of the year in December only for the heating in my room not working. To add insult to injury the shower drain was blocked . No need to say that I would not stay at this hotel again even if the chances are remote for me to stay in Cheswick again.
"Good, Accessible Hotel"
I visited the Chiswick Hotel on 16th of December as part of a package which included a trip to the theatre. Various hotel options were offered but after looking at reviews on trip advisor, the Clayton Hotel was the obvious choice given the positive reviews. It did seem a few miles out of central London - but we found that the tube made the hotel very accessible, even late on a Saturday night when we returned back to the hotel from the theatre. The Clayton Hotel didn't disappoint. It is only a couple of hundred yards from the closest tube station (Gunnersbury) and inside is modern and well organised. I was staying with my daughter and had booked a twin room - we were given the room cards by an efficient receptionist but the room allocated was a double. Once pointed out, the mistake was quickly remedied and we were given a good sized twin room with a large bathroom. The hotel is well equipped with a bar and all other facilities expected. We didn't spend a great deal of time in the hotel but it was a relief that our stay at the Clayton Hotel was trouble free. The breakfast served the following day was satisfactory - it was quite a busy breakfast time but we were quickly seated. Would recommend this hotel for a stay in London.
