This hotel is overpriced and a bit deceiving. I booked through booking.com and they have maybe 5 very calculated room shots. The rooms are very small and cramped with these weird doors that do not close so they occupy unnecisary space when they swing open, making the space feel even more cramped. I expect if I pay +$200usd that at least the towels are in good condition, which they were not. They are obviously overused/old. I also expect that if a hotel provides a safety deposit box that it is secured, the safe in our room we could take it and go for a walk... it was not secured to anything. The main door to the room also had a lock on it, the lock didn't work. If you bring valuables this is not the hotel for you because someone can easily enter your room, and walk off with your valuables. The common areas are quite chic, thus leading me to believe the same concept would be translated to the rooms. Wrong. Thank god we only stayed 1 night. We ordered room service and the pasta was terrible we had 2 bites and then went out for food. They have a Jacuzzi which guests have access to however it is located in the terrace where there's public access. The restaurant is cute but is very noisy and you can hear and smell it in the rooms. Overall we were very dissatisfied with the quality of the hotel and found it to be quite deceiving. Definitely would not recommend to stay here. Maybe cocktails or brunch, that's all.
"Nice to have a drink - terrible to stay"
The bar is really nice and funky, however if you actually need some sleep ... go elsewhere, rooms are very noisey (from bar and very thin walls) Cramped rooms leave nothing to the imagination. ... put it this way, we were charged $100 for a bottle of water, given a 'complementary' drink that the barman was very insistent on a $50 tip and upon leaving was given multiple different answers on departure - cancelled 2 Ubers from conflicting advice 😐 Over priced - undelivered, left me broke and pissed off Ideally I'd give under 1 out of 5
"World class design hotel with amazing food!"
My fiancé and I have stayed in countless design hotels this year alone (Switzerland, Italy, the US), and Condesa DF tops our list--hands down! The hotel is an immaculate confluence of old world charm and cutting-edge, creative design. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Two of the biggest perks, however, were the food and drinks and the staff. The food, whether downstairs or up on the rooftop, is full of flavor and beautifully presented. The craft cocktails are insanely good. We didn't find any cocktails of that quality elsewhere in CDMX or in the Yucatan, where we went next. The staff is also wonderful--they are so helpful and very patient with our broken Spanish. We had one waiter most of the time (tall with glasses), and he was awesome! The four nights we spent at Condesa DF really made out trip to Mexico. We have already recommended it to friends and family heading to CDMX this year. We really feel that going to this city and staying at Condesa DF is a *must*!
"Superb little hotek"
We opt to support local hotels instead of the Airbnb craze. With that same philosophy we were worried that Condesa DF would be too trendy and hip with the details but it is just a wonderful hotel, yes it is hip and cool but had an air of cool Mexico City authenticity. Highly recommended as the location could not be beat!
a lot of charm, close to great places. The rooms are spacious, clean, staff is friendly, they have an amazing rooftop bar. their restaurant is full of exquisite cuisine and the few times that I have stayed there I never felt unsafe walking around at night
