"Our wonderful stay at Conrad Koh Samui"
This place and the staff is 5* plus. I compare the service here as White glove service. Staff shows compassionate concern for our comfort and prompt attention to details. The Manager's welcome cocktail was amazing as staff like Saudi,Tey, Kim and Band (bar tender) were entertaining and we had a great time. Mr Best in AZURE has excellent customer service, Manager at Jahn's was equally wonderful. Staff and chef at ZEST are the A-team. I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff, service are . Great TEAM On our last day, the GM Lyle Lewis drove as back to our villa..We can't believe that the GM would help out so we do not have to wait for the buggy. though was not a wait at all as we enjoyed watching the gorgeous view . AMAZING STAFF,PLACE..I have shared on social media a lot and my friends are already asking about the place. Front desk security guard and staff were very welcoming and helpful. SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!
"Excellent as expected"
My wife and I did not leave the resort - it had all we expected. Each villa has its own pool and the views are extraordinary. It was pure relaxation. Service and staff were 5 star. Breakfast had lots of choices and catered for all tastes. This resort is located in a remote position about 50 minutes from the airport. We considered this to be a positive but some may be after more action. Enjoy!
Just came back from this amazing hotel! Stayed with my husband for five nights and it was perfect. The location of the hotel is so unique. Nestled on a hill built in a tropical paradise. Villas are amazing, nicely decorated , spacious , comfy beds, large pool, great view all you need to relax is there! Service was also very good. Everybody was very helpful and polite. Their top, priority was to keep you happy. Visited the spa two times. Both times were great. Food at Jahn was a unique experience. All dishes were so perfect! Desert as well. If you are looking for a unique , relaxing holiday this is where you need to go!
"Wonderful Resort & Staff"
What can one say about such a wonderful property' My girlfriend and I spent 5 nights at the Conrad Koh Samui at the back end of a three-week vacation and to say we had an amazing time would be an understatement. In addition to the obvious beauty of the resort, the staff was among the best of any I have experienced anywhere in the world. From the moment we checked in until the time we reluctantly had to leave, we were treated as royalty. By the end of our 1st day, it seemed like the entire staff was addressing us by name and becoming familiar with our personal preferences. No detail was overlooked. Some other information for everyone that I hope will be helpful; note that our stay was a non-revenue booking (paid with Hhonors points) and I hold Diamond status at Hilton. Location: The Conrad is located as far away from the USM airport as you could possibly be on the island (about a 45-minute drive). This was preferable to us since you are in a remote and quiet location but for those who may enjoy venturing off-site at night just be prepared to either rent your own vehicle, or constantly pay for taxi service. The hotel does offer daily shuttles to other parts of the island at no cost, however those stop opperating in the early evening so it would be your responsibility to find transportation back. Taxis are plentiful and there is an Uber-like app called Navigo that the island utilizes as well. Motorbike rentals are everywhere around the island and cost only $10-15 USD per day. We had one the entire time. Villas: Absolutely stunning…….we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a one-bedroom villa on the 3rd level which is IMO preferable since it is close to the main dining area and has unobstructed views of the ocean. Villas on the 1st and 2nd level are closer to the beach and pool areas, however I was told that views can be somewhat obstructed from trees. Honestly who cares' If you stay here you are guaranteed a wonderful room with your private infinity pool regardless. Two and three-bedroom villas are located further up the hill on levels 4 and above. Activities: The hotel has daily complimentary activates such as Yoga and Tai-Chi classes as well as a complimentary boat excursion that must be booked in advance. We took advance of the Yoga classes which was great for beginners with a very welcoming instructor. The boat excursion was fun as well; it’s about two hours long and takes you to a local snorkeling spot and another island close by. I had read mixed reviews on this prior and wasn’t sure if it would be worth it but we ended up having a great time. Fitness/Spa: Didn’t utilize either. I’m sure the gym was nice, but I prefer to exercise outdoors. Other guests we spoke with said the spa was one of the best we had ever been to, but it was hard for us to justify the cost when you can get great massages around the island for 1/10th of the price. Dining: If I recall correctly there are 4 dining areas at the hotel which include the pool bar, Zest Restaurant, Jahn Restaurant and The Cellar. We only had drinks at the pool bar (which were delicious and comparable to price to what you would pay for in the States) and the two dinners we had at Zest were on par for what you would expect at a hotel of this quality. Zest is also where the daily breakfast buffet is located which was top notch. We didn’t get a chance to dine at The Cellar which is a more private dining experience, but our last evening we enjoyed the tasting menu at Jahn Restaurant which was delicious and very good value for the price (about $100 USD per person without wine pairing). Weather: This is southeast Asia……it might rain as it did for half our trip and if you have a negative attitude about it you could let it adversely affect what should be a great stay. If it rains, it rains so rather than sulk try and use it as an opportunity. Visit some places outside the hotel and go get muddy, treat yourself to a spa day, draw yourself a bubble bath and drink cocktails in your room. There is no reason not to have a great time while you are here regardless of what nature throws at you. All in all, I don’t think I can say enough positive things about our stay. You’d be hard-pressed to find as fun or unique of a property anywhere in Koh Samui or even the world for that matter. Thank you to the staff members that helped to create such a memorable stay for us; I do hope that we have a chance to visit you again someday.
"Lots to Love (and Little to Loath)"
Start with a couple of things re: the unique nature of this property...it is off the beaten path relative to the several stretchs of popular public beaches, the airport, and anything resembling night life, and that could be just the ticket for some including my family....driving through Chaweng and Lamai beach area, I'm glad we kept driving...the down side to this spot on the island is it's lack of real useable beach...if you need an expansive beach right at your room, this probably is not your best choice..secondly, that fact that each villa literally hangs off the cliffside means that the path to and from the pool and Gulf is steep; very steep...meaning getting anywhere from the main pool to the restaurants to the spa can be a bit of a production but the "buggy"service was punctual and pleasant... the things that make the Conrad shine more than outweigh the lack of the proverbial long stretch of white sand that dominate the pics of the "perfect Thai beach"...first, view...it's as dramatic and spectacular as advertised, with each villa configured to maximize it...our 2 bedroom included lot's of space with an exceptional master bath and quality linens and beds..while the living room furniture is rather spartan it was not uncomfortable...the kitchen area is very limited with small appliances and space, but that's only a negative if you plan to cook in often....the hardwood flooring is beautiful but worn and could use a refresh, although that's a real challenge in a tropical climate...interior lighting is superior and I loved the tasteful labeling of the switches so that it doesn't take til your departure date to figure out which switch goes to which fixture... the exterior space is extraordinary with a well groomed sitting area perched above the 10 meter private infinity pool..as mentioned in previous reviews, the temp of the pool can be an issue....our 5 days were split about 50-50 with lots of rain and little sunshine, disappointing for this time of year....if you're lucky enough to get some bright sunshine, compare photos of the five islands with those taken on a cloudy or rainy day and you'll see the affect of sunshine during your stay...service and food for the most part, were fabulous with the following exceptions 1) the New Year's Eve party was a huge disappointment...first, transparency...at about $450 US dollars per person, I'd expect an upscale event...serving sparkling wine rather than champagne as advertised was a bit cheesy and I had no idea that it was a cash bar until leaving and being presented a check....that info may not have deterred me as yours was the only option, still it would have good to know....the entertainment, while well intentioned, was fairly lame...I didn't come 8500 miles to hear a karaoke style vocal group and a DJ play hip-hop music with "nig..r" and "moth....cker" in the lyric at a family party...inappropriate and I'm pretty sure not the standard that Conrad or Nicky Hilton had in mind when they lent their name to their hotels...the food, on the other hand, exceeded expectations...I also got food poisoning at Jawn's, a severe but luckily only 24 hour bout....having traveled enough to know that sometimes GI problems occur in foreign lands because of the lack of exposure to bugs in our home countries that locals have built up a tolerance to, hence am not going to blame the restaurant, but I was overly cautious the rest of the trip and probably missed some great food...the food at the other restaurants, particularly the breakfast, was arroy mak..the only other discomforting thing was the abandoned and overgrown units up on 6 level...kind of like a tenement slum on property....weird..all in all, a very nice place and experience that I recommend.
