"Pre Cruise Hotel"
Arriving around midday after the long flight from Sydney via Singapore & Frankfurt I was surprised to find the room was ready (I had sent numerous Emails advising of this early arrival). The front desk staff were very friendly and obliging with the conversion of this old whare-house being tastefully completed with many of original feature retained. The room was pleasant overlooking the river and the décor in keeping with other hotels of this standard. The bathroom with in bath shower was roomy for 2 people. As I was only staying 3 nights prior to a Baltic cruise the lack of substantial storage was not a problem as I had packed a separate bag for this stay. My only complaint about the room is the lack of air-conditioning so you had to leave the access to the Juliet balcony open at night to let in fresh air which resulted in the noise from the near by bars and pedestrian traffic being disturbing. My package included breakfast which is served in the attached restaurant (inside or outside). The buffet was very pleasing in variety and is on par with similar standards of hotels. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to all the attraction in Copenhagen and the Hop on/off bus stops right outside. Overall this hotel meet all my expectations being a first timer in Copenhagen.
"Great location, room ok"
Me and my boyfriend spent a weekend in Copenhagen and 1 night in this hotel. The location is great! It's so close to the water and we had great view from the window. The service at the desk was welcoming and very friendly. We booked a double room - good size and clean (except for a few hairs on the carpet and the phone was dusty). The bed was comfortable and we slept well. But for the price everything is a bit old already and could be renovated.
Great room over looking the water, location excellent close enough to all of the tourist hot spots but not in a noisy location which was great. Room was spacious and clean. We forgot to put out our DND sign the maid was very keen to get in at 9:30am so don't forget to do that, but that was entirely our fault . All staff encountered were very friendly and extremely helpful. Knocked off 1 star due to the bar maid assuming my change was her tip. I would of left it anyway but it's nice to have the choice. I'd defiantly return.
"Should Be Rated Much Higher"
After a disappointing stay at the Mariott, this hotel was a pleasant surprise. First the good... It is perfectly located -- a block from Nyhavn, close to all the shops, walking distance from Tivoli (long walk though), right along the canal, close enough to the metro, half block from Amelienborg Palace. The building is beautiful and the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus stops right in front. We had a junior suite -- loved it -- very clean, with a little lounge area and nice comfortable bedroom up some very steep winding stairs. The best thing about the hotel was the breakfast -- FABULOUS -- every kind of fruit you can think of, two kinds of eggs, bacon, sausage, and a bakery spread that was delicious. I can only think of a few negatives: There is no bell staff or concierge. That means you have to lug your luggage in and up to your room and back. The front desk is great and functions as a concierge, but there were times there was a line for check in and check out and we needed maps or directions quickly -- they need a concierge. While we loved the room, the steps would be prohibitive for someone older or with mobility issues -- they are steep and could be dangerous at night. No washcloths available, which I found very odd, and only one pillow per side of the bed. The worst thing was the walls were paper think so we could hear someone snoring all night long. Luckily, there were fans in the room to dull the noise. Overall, a really really nice hotel -- we would definitely choose it hands down over the Mariott if we had another stay.
"Overpriced; great location but other options nearby for less money"
Had heard a lot of hype about this hotel and honestly, it was our most expensive hotel after being in Iceland, Norway and Sweden, and ALL of those hotels included breakfast. This one did not and we had a junior suite which had VERY VERY tiny windows. So, if you think you are getting a view here, think again. It is a great location and near so many wonderful things to see in a very beautiful city, but when I return to CPH, I'll stay at a hotel that costs less, is located in this vicinity and includes breakfast. The junior suite also has the bed upstairs in the loft as others have mentioned so makes it hard if you need to use the bathroom during the night, etc. also, we were on the top floor so the skylights had to be covered up with drapes so it was a little awkward. The front desk staff were just ok, and didn't go over anything about the property. Got a coffee on the patio the next morning which is a great place to sit at and relax and enjoy the view but service was slow. Honestly it doesn't live up to the hype. And there was an event going on across the waterway (SUP championships) so it was early in the AM and we were hearing a bunch of announcements on a PA which was annoying.
