The Admiral is a great hotel, in a great location that we got at a great price through Prestigia.Comment of H. Stephen , United States the 2014-08-01
"Good except for noisy room"
The room and beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately, the location of the room was a problem. We were right above the outside cafe/restaurant as well as being across from the doorway from the staircase up. When people would use the stairs, the door would always slam shut loudly. For the cafe, we could hear peoples' voices even after mid-night when the cafe was supposed to be closed. The staff were very friendly. This is a good hotel as long as you don't have room x44 or those nearby!
"Location, Location, Location plus a very nice hotel"
Just a block from the canal district, the Palace and three blocks from the downtown shopping areas. Away from the noise and crowds, a great place to spend the night. Great breakfast awaits you in the morning. Friendly staff. This is our second time to stay here and we were not disappointed on either visit. We chose to eat along the canal district just a block away. Staff were great, helpful and their recommendations were perfect.
"Great style and nice staff"
We had a standard room on the street side of the hotel. The best part of this hotel for us were the staff who were very helpful. The hotel and the rooms are well cared for and the style is very nice and interesting. The rooms are a little old so things are looking a little dated. The room are not sound proofed well and we constantly heard all sort of noises from the street, other room and pipes, so caution for a light sleeper. There is also no AC, but there was a fan in the closet that could be used for warmer nights. The hotel has a breakfast every morning for 150 DKK - it is a bit expensive for what it is, but not bad - bacon, sausage, eggs, pastries, cold cuts cheese, breads, drinks etc. The hotel location is great for getting to Nyhavn and isn't too far from Stroget, the pedestrian shopping street, but also isn't as central or close to all sites. However, this may improve once the new metro line opens. Overall I would recommend the hotel for those looking for a unique location in the heart of Copenhagen.
"Nice hotel, good location"
Staff very friendly. We were given a room on the first floor on the street side. I kept on hearing this horrible mundane music. I went to reception to query the loud music. Turns out our room was right above the restaurant and bar entrance, and the music was from the bar. I requested a room change, as we didn't want to hear the music morning, noon and night. They moved us to the waterside which was a plus. The standard rooms are not massive, but they are clean, and the view on the waterside made it worthwhile. The hotel is close to all the restaurants and bars on Nyhavn, and about a 5 minute walk from the Stroget shopping area.
I was staying for 2 nights for business and was my first time to visit Copenhagen. The hotel has very special design and style whereby you feel you are staying inside a historical building. I had easy check-in and gave me bigger room. They gave me room two beds even my booking was for single room so I requested King Size bed but it was not possible. The hotel looks old and very well maintained. The location of the hotel is not bad so you have lovely walk to main city visits. The lobby area is always busy. Free Wi-Fi was available as well. One small problem that the in room dinning and the La Carte restaurant menu was very poor. I wanted to east something but nothing easy to select from so i had to walk out to the city to eat in any restaurant. I hope the menu could have some international items. The hotel staff was good but not as great as expected.
