Spectacular hotel in the city center. From airport it can be reached with 15 min metro and a short and nice walk of 10 min.very nice room (got a free upgrade from standard to superior room) and the bathroom has also the bidet (not in the standard room). Breakfast simply gorgeous. Staff service and courtesy also very high.
"Some historic renovations work better than others"
First the good parts: attractive historic warehouse in a great central location with lovely views of the harbor and opera house, a good restaurant (SALT) with a great value for money buffet, very helpful staff. Now the less good parts: the rooms and hallways are crossed by enormous brick arches and wooden beams which give an oppressive feeling and block the light from the small, understrength lights, the room didn't feel well cleaned and the carpets were so covered with strains I actually wore socks in the room, the bathroom was furnished with middle of the road at best towels and toiletries.
"Good hotel in very good location"
Friendly staff, good breakfast, spotless clean, good location and all in all a good place to stay, only a few mins walk to nyhaven area which is really pleasant and in the opposite direction only about 10ms walk to the little mermaid. If I ever return to Denmark, I would have no second thoughts on staying here again.
It is about 5 min walking distance from the Nyhavn area and across from the Amalienborg. We had a 2 twin beds room. Spacious room size. If you are traveling from the US, you will need to bring an outlet adapter. We walked to Gefionspringvandet (12min) and then The Little Mermaid (5 min). We did walk once to the City Hall Square (30 min). There are close-by underground metro. There is a bus and hop-on hop-off stop right in front of the hotel.
"Worst hotel rooms ever"
I have never written a bad review before but this was terrible. The room was a double but was so small and so poorly laid out that you had to turn a rolling suitcase to the narrow side to roll it between the end of the bed and chest. And less space between the corner of the bed and the desk. There were several of us at the hotel and the rooms were all so hot even with the heat turned off you couldn’t sleep. The street was too noisy to open the windows. When you turn the wall light switches off it turns the power outlets off so you can’t charge any electrical devices even if you have the room card in the power slot by the door.
