Adequate for an overnight on a business trip, everything works but is dated and needs an overhaul. My bed was two singles pushed together with a difference in height leaving a lump to avoid in the night. Some confusion when I checked out as I had not been checked in. Staff are mainly pleasant. Breakfast was nice and plentiful.
"Adequate for Business Trip"
Certainly adequate for a short business trip, perfectly located to the city Center and train station with parking available at an additional cost. Restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel. Wouldn’t be my preference for a leisure stay, a little too basic.
"Needs some TLC"
We stayed here for one night & wouldn’t ever stay again. Room are very dated, bathroom was even more dated than the room! The only good thing was that the bed was comfy and the location was ideal. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
"In dire need of renovation"
great location, not had a penny spent on it in years, surrounded currently by a building site. Rooms either boiling or cold, restaurant dark, with wobbly cheap furniture, no plugs by the beds, old TVs. Restaurant felt lie a franchise. I had to pay cash for room service, no option given on discretionary service charge, shower very sensitive. not a lot of positives really other than its location
"Try the alternatives"
Stayed there for 5 nights and thought it was a timewarp to the 70s. The shower was either too hot or too cold, the windows did not open and we could not control the heating. The lights in the room were too low for reading, but we could listen to the neigbours through the paper thin wall for entertainment. And having been told at check in that we would not be charged for parking I was told by the receptionist on the third day that she would not release my car until I paid up. We were in a hurry to get to the fair and staying for two more nights, but she was unsmiling, unflinching and relentless. Matthew the manager did put a bit of hospitality into the business but for the rest of it this is a sad reminder of what hotels were like in the 1970s - minus the humour
