"Do you like queues'"
Decent enough hotel albeit tired and a bit shabby, food good but queues are the order of the day! 15 minute queue to check in, only one of the snail like lifts appear to be in operation and queues for breakfast. Perhaps have more staff on and better management of peak times' - Assuming with all the building work going on in the centre of Birmingham either this hotel is being replaced or at least undergoing a major refurb
"Urgently needs refurbishment "
This hotel is clearly outdated. When I arrived there, I was even expecting lieutenant Columbo to show up as the hotel clearly brings you back to the seventies. Everything is outdated and there is no complementary water in the bedroom. The staff was however very gentle.

Had a wonderful stay while attending a concert at the Symphony Hall. There was a lot of building work going on around the Hotel but we were lucky to find a space in the hotel car park, we got in when another car came out which was lucky as no ticket came out of the machine but on explaining at reception we were given a pass. Our friends were not as lucky and had to find space near the town hall. The room was clean, the staff were pleasant and we had food before the concert in the restaurant, a lovely Chinese meal. The hotel is central for shopping and was within walking distance of Symphony hall which was ideal. The hotel serves a good breakfast.
"Nothing to shout about."
Parking is an issue presently due to the major development of B'ham city centre(little noisy due to this reason) , some of my colleagues managed to get a space but I was across the road in the multi story so no real drama. Check-in fine, general condition of the hotel and room was a little tired but maybe they will be refurbished at some point' Bar was ok but closed at 10.30pm which seemed a little early to me' Overall no problems but for £163.99 for a Tuesday night was over the top in my opinion, I attended an event at the ICC which was a 3-4 minute walk so goo location for that.

Being in the city centre this hotel is surrounded by redevelopment work that is going on. The hotel itself is due to be demolished after a new one has been built so not surprisingly this one is getting a little tired. It is Ok for a one night stop and well priced. If you are planning a late night beware that the building works start at 7.45
