Stayed over last Thursday when my partner was attending a course there. We've stayed several times over the last few years and this hotel always provides us with a pleasant and comfortable stay. Noticed that some upgrading work is underway, which is great news as it needs some modernising. Staff and food are as good as you'll find anywhere !.
"Principality Stadium "
Stayed here on 12th july as we were going to see Coldplay. When we booked it said that its close to the principality stadium however it wasnt that close and cost us £16 each way for a taxi. Check in at reception was swiftly done. Our room was very comfortable and so was the bed. Shower very powerful which is nice. Nice to have a light above the mirror where u can do your make up and a long mirror also. Lovely hotel but room was a bit pricey because of Coldplay being in Cardiff compared to other times but would stay here again
"Good enough to lay your head"
Stayed overnight when visiting family in Wales - no doubt the dark wood decor gives the feel of an aged hotel as does the bathroom but it delivers on the essentials. Room clean, tidy, spacious and comfortable. Feels a bit pricey for what it is, especially when considering it is a good 20 minute drive from the city centre on the edge of a retail park. Wouldn't be the first choice to stay but if you are a bit stuck and just want place to lay your head then 'it'll do'
"Tired and overpriced"
Think the title says it all really. This hotel is in desperate need of some updating and modernising. Pool nice but again needs some tlc.... sauna door even has a sign on to explain to lift the door before trying to open it! Rooms good size and very very comfortable bed. No air con so had the window open and as our room looked out on to the car park and pick up area, this meant we were woken up early because of noise. Not the relaxing stay imagined. Shower was more of a dribble and managed to get more water on the floor than in tub. Staff generally very friendly and helpful, let us check in to room even though we had arrived a few hours early. However receptionist on at night was not only unhelpful but actually quite rude with us when asking basic questions about what was in the local area and what we could do the following day. Above all, feel it is overpriced for what is on offer.
"False Advertising "
On your main Website Page you have the following "Your 4 Star Hotel near the Millennium Stadium" This Hotel is nowhere near the Millennium Stadium or Cardiff City Centre for that matter. We felt cheated very quickly when we found this out on check in - The Hotel is a good 20/25 minutes from the centre and £6.60 return or £12 to £15 each way by Taxi & if you decide to stay in the hotel there is nothing to do outside of it. The Hotel itself is old and tired - It's ok but not great. The Bar Staff could do with training as they do not seem to know what they are doing - Asking for the basics in a Bar like Sparkling Water (None Left) Soda Water (only One Left) Really poor Service. One Stand out member of your team is Jason on Reception - He was on the desk when we checked in on Tuesday & seemed to be there Morning,Noon & Night for the 3 days we Stayed. But the overall view we have is we were cheated by your Website - It cost the 2 of us a small fortune to commute to Cardiff from the Hotel. Would not return and would certainly not Recommend.
