"Book early to secure good price"
I was able to secured 3 nights stay at the hotel after a couple of amendments at a very good weekend rate about 1300SEK per night. On arrival I found that my stay was truncated to 2 nights and if I want to stay the third night the rate would be 2850SEK. On my return to my country I seized thro my emails and found my confirmation for 3 nights. I got the hotel to Honour the lower rate. But what a big difference! On retrospect, it was indeed a very cheap rate for a very modern hotel which has gone cashless. The location though not in the city centre is very convenient. The metro is a 8 minutes walk from the hotel. You can shorten it by taking a bus . Transportation is very good in Sweden. A three day pass is cheap way to travel and you can use it for all modes of transportation.seniors get a discount. Everyone says Sweden is very expensive but my note rate made a big different. Also dining in the hotel restaurant is my recommendation. The food is very good and the serving is generous. On balance it is very affordable. Taxis is expensive. I was cheated and paid 690SEK for my trip to the hotel. I paid cash and got a change with a dud note which I only found out when I wanted to use my remaining money at the airport.this is a common problem with many immigrants now residing in Sweden. Everywhere in the hotel lobby there is reminder to be aware of pick-pocket. Coming back to the hotel, I think I made a good choice and therefore recommend to readers.
"Window of standard rooms does not open. No service at breakfast."
If you don't need a window to open then the hotel rooms should be OK. Staff told me more expensive rooms on/from 11th floor have windows to open. Staff so-so (I was not greeted as gold-member and no extra service or upgrade was offered.) I had breakfast at 6:45 the first day, there was one waiter but the breakfast area was full. I never could order coffee (offered only horrible drip). I did not go to breakfast again (though paid), as there was nothing non-dairy. Soy-milk on request (if you find a waiter). Breakfast selection worst I saw in Stockholm. Location: Walking distance to bus or metro.
"Good place to stsy"
Located in a quiet neighborhood but with good transport links to the old town. The hotel is relatively new and the rooms are nice. The staff is friendly and they take care of Platinum members. Had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant, the food was quite good.
" Clean rooms, amazing bar and restaurant, good service "
Excellent courtyard. Better than the run off the mill courtyards you get in the US. As a platinum member, you get free breakfast. The breakfast had a good spread. Wi-Fi is strong and the rooms air conditioning works (hard to find this in europe!). You can always ask for an extra fan. The highlight was the bar. The cocktails were top notch and the staff was welcoming and courteous. The hotel is not in the old city, so you need to take the taxi or the train (close by). Highly recommend this hotel.
The Marriott is outside the City centre only 25 minute walk along a lakeside path through the park to the City Hall which is close to the old town ( Gamla Stan.)or take the 10 minute walk to the underground.Staff are very friendly and rooms are very comfortable.Ample selection for the buffet style breakfast.Would recommend this hotel if visiting Stockholm
