To make it clear this is not a Marriott Resort Hotel, its pretty clear in the description along with the price charged. Don't book and then complain that its not Marriott standard. Great location with plenty of places to eat near and only a 10 minute walk to the beach. We stayed here for 8 nights and found all the staff pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean and up to date. Bathroom on the small side but ok. Only one bed side table and lamp, did complain but nothing done about this, ended up using the chair from the desk. Pool ok for a quick dip but couldn't spend a day by the pool. We spent every day out exploring this hotel made an ideal base.
"I liked it, until after"
This place is good. Little bit dated, and a few minor maintenance things I noticed. But not bad at all. The bad thing is being charged 2 weeks after the fact, on my personal credit card travelling for business - and it being seemingly impossibly to get in touch with Marriot through the 800 number. Marriott has wasted my time.
My daughter and I stayed for 1 week at this hotel, and, apart from the breakfast being a little disappointing, found the room, maid-service and reception to be extremely good. The room overlooked the pool and was cleaned thoroughly each day, with contact from the maid when she thought we had accidently thrown something in the bin which we hadn't meant to - extremely honest. Reception were helpful when we had a problem with our hire vehicle, and the location of the hotel was perfect for us. All in all, a lovely stay for my dream vacation.
"Location OK - View was not that good"
The Courtyard looks like it is actually made up of a few buildings. The main desk is in a nice well appointed building. The staff as always with Marriott was pleasant and helpful. Maybe the other places in the hotel are good, but I would avoid the rooms that have 5 for the second to last digit; these rooms are in a building that shows its age overlooks a trashy part of Waikiki and the noise level was uncomfortable at best - I guess we should have been tipped off by the ear plugs the room attendant put on the night stand. Anyway, at 4 and at 5 every morning we were awakened to the sounds of trash trucks and busses going about their business. The pool in the main building looked inviting but the pool at our building was small and uninviting. The pool in yet another building looked large and seemed well used.
"Apart from being in a great location..."
This is an old Courtyard and really need renovation. The check in was so so as the girl was on the phone when we arrived, she didn't acknowledge us standing there until after she finished her phone conversation. she did, however, had a smile for us during our check in. We have stayed at lots of Courtyards and Marriott hotels before, but this was the first one that didn't have a complimentary toothbrush as I have forgotten to bring mine. The room was ok, but house keeping always forgot to leave something not refilled. The first night was what was left of the previous guess's shampoo and conditioner and only one wash cloth, second night was one creamer packet for two people and the third was one tea packet and one decaf coffee. Just little annoying things make this a third rate hotel,
