"At Least It's Not $50 to Park"
Nope, it's only $49 per night to park! Which is ridiculous beyond belief but unfortunately pretty typical for Chicago. I felt the hotel rate was also high, especially since we were staying in a blocked off section for a wedding. The room was decent size, with a balcony (but no chairs out there). Our room was 2 doubles-queens would have been a huge improvement. Size of the room was good and included a settee and a desk. No fridge. Bathroom was also a decent size but absolutely no where to hang up towels and also fell into the category of my least favorite hotel quirk-if I book a room for 2 adults and 2 kids for the love of god give me 4 bath towels, not 3, and this bathroom had no place to hang up a towel after use. There is a restaurant on site-my in-laws ate breakfast there and said it was not good-everything was cold. We opted to pick up food across the street at Mariano's. No major complaints-location was good both for driving in from the burbs and getting where we needed to for a wedding weekend but for nearly $200/night (not including the exorbitant parking fee) this hotel was considerably less than remarkable.
The hotel is ideally located. It is close to UIC and Sears Tower. I was worried about the noise from the street but didn't have a problem. The surrounding Greektown provide a lot of options for delicious food. The rooms are well furnished. The bed is very comfortable.
"Amazing staff "
First off the staff is amazing here. Allen is outstanding and all the gentlemen that do the parking as well. Food is good here the rooms are clean. The bathroom is a little small and no refrigerator in the rooms is disappointing. Parking is another concern do yourself a favor and get valet parking the open parking lot beside the hotel doesn't exist anymore they are building a new building there so it makes it much easier if you just have them park your car. Overall very good Hotel I have stayed here several times over the years and will again when I am back in the area.
On a family/friend trip to Chi-town for a music festival, the Crowne Plaza was perfect! At check-in, Danielle G. was great, she dealt with a huge crowd of festival people clamouring to get a room super calmly and efficiently while still being so friendly! The rooms are spacious, nice balconies, big TVs, and super comfy beds. Highly recommend this hotel. It's also only a short walk from Michigan avenue, Millennial park, and the lake.
"Danielle was great/ pillows even better "
We arrived on a Friday afternoon to see a nearby music festival......along with 10s of thousands of others, many of which were checking in right along with us. The throngs of young people checking in, the morasse of people seeking rooms.....were all received with an enduring smile, copious information about the hotel and area from Danielle! She and one other handled ALL these young folk with enormous patience and professionalism. Later the next morn.....Danielle helped me with my missing valet parking ticket......STILL smiling and kind. Thanks D!
