"Nice but average hotel away from the sights"
Overall it's a nice hotel, not the best one I've stayed in and pretty far from the sights of Copenhagen but probably a good choice for business travelers. Also nice to have an expense account for the $30 breakfast but they have a shuttle to the airport,15 K and it's a short trip so a taxi is only about $150 K.
Hotel is nice and convenient. However, be aware that the parking lot is apparently not connected to the Crown Plaza, despite their corporate signage on the lot. There is no instructions for parking or signage. They give out tickets for 650kr if you don't register your car. We were never asked about the car and there is no clear signage. We assumed we would pay on departure. So they extorted us for a parking fine that had to be paid by wire transfer and there was "nothing they could do". While I get that it is a different company, exposing your guests to this sort of extortion is not a good way to keep customers. There are other choices for hotels and we will stay elsewhere next time.
"Food was amazing, great effort all around"
It was another week in another hotel in Nordics. I had been through most brands in the last 8 weeks of travel. What impressed me was the imposing size of the structure and the warm greeting from the reception staff. During a week of early out and late back what really made the difference was room service - not normally a service you would expect to see great food, but was I surprised by the quality, the speed of service and the commitment of the kitchen and the waiting staff - excellent approach. Prehaps next trip Imay actually get to check out the restaurants. Impression, good attitude to guest, very busy hotel with cruise passengers overnighting however the staff stlll found time to be personal. Granmted its location is not 10/10 however travel in and around the hotel is not too expensive. Will be back. Thanks
"pre cruise stay"
This hotel was ideal for our purposes. It was a short cab ride from the airport. Directly across the street was the metro station which gave us easy access to the center of the city. (Tip=be sure you have danish krone). Next door was a large shopping mall with an excellent food court. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the cruise terminal which saved us a large taxi fare as the terminal is some distance away. The restaurant at the hotel had a limited menu but the food was very good. Be prepared for sticker shock-prices in Denmark are quite high. The staff were all very helpful particularly the concierge.
We stayed here for three nights. I was a little worried at first that we were staying too far outside of the city, but the metro was very easy and convenient to use. We had no issues getting around. There is also a massive mall next door if you need to do any shopping. The staff were really nice and helped us check-in quickly so that we could beat the queue for the elevators as a huge group of fifty people had checked-in right before us. The views from the top levels of the hotel are incredible. The food in the hotel restaurants isn't particularly good though, but the coffee in the cafe was fine. The restaurant area is full of trees, which is really neat. My only complaint was that they did forget to clean our room. They sent someone up immediately, but it was a bit awkward having her there while we were trying to relax after a long day, and she was rushed off her feet, so she forgot to empty the bins.
