"Never, Ever Again"
I am a loyal IHG member and I am very disappointed with my experience at this hotel. First, we reserved a king room. Upon check in at 2:47 (check in was at 3) I was informed by D.C. (No real name, just initials') that they were completely sold out and our room wouldn't be available until later that evening. The excuse was that too many guests requested late checkout and just as if I requested, they would have to accommodate. Another employee nearby overheard the conversation and offered us an upgrade. D.C., for some reason could only come up with a Queen accessible room for the same price. The room had 4 visible, and unsightly big brown stains on the carpet, a slight moldy odor and the air conditioner was as loud as a combustible engine. If that wasn't enough already, the refrigerator was such a disturbance we had to unplug it to sleep. On top of that, our room was called a total of 4 times, the last being around 11pm asking what time we wanted to coordinate luggage pick up for our cruise''' (We were not cruise passengers) Upon checkout the plan was to share my experience with management only the wait was so long, I checked out online while in line waiting and left the keys on the counter.
I always stay here every year pre cruise. They are very accommodating and there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance, and the beach is an Uber ride away. I love it, great service and George is awesome!

"Won't Stay Again"
I actually had two reservations for this hotel, one at the beginning of my trip when I flew in and one at the end, the day before flying out. I ended up cancelling the second reservation because I refused to stay again. I was amazed at how rude the staff was. If they would have been more professional and polite, I would have stayed, but their attitudes made me refuse. The room was very clean, the hotel had a beautiful pool open 24 hours which was very inviting. The restaurant seemed nice except my husband and I ordered nachos to share for our dinner and the staff brought us a plate with a long black curly hair across the nachos. When I let the waitress know she took the plate and asked "do you want another one'" Well of course I do.. it's 10:30 pm, we don't have a car and have no where to eat within walking distance that was open.. although i had lost my appetite I had no other choice. After dinner, my husband and I went to the front desk to ask for a couple of toothbrushes, but as we were approaching there was a woman at the left desk and a man at the right desk who was getting angry with the computer. He was hitting himself in the head saying "this stupid computer won't let me reinstate it.." EXTREMELY unproffesional when you have guests in front of you! The woman didn't seem very quick to want to assist us either. I felt very unwelcome. Aside from my experience at the hotel, my phone experiences with them weren't any better. Before staying at the property, I had my rooms reserved for my trip. My trip was originally cancelled, and I called the hotel to cancel my reservations. The front desk transfered me to central reservations without my knowledge so I called back and asked to speak to the hotel directly. I said I would be willing to wait on hold if she was busy. The woman laughed and said "you will be waiting on hold for a really long time then." and i said "okay that's fine." and she said "well let me just get you out of the way, what is your confirmation number'" very rude, however got the job done and cancelled my two reservations. Then my trip was back on and I made the reservations online again. After my experience during the first stay I wanted to cancel the second reservation I had. I called the hotel in the middle of my trip to cancel and again was transfered to IHG. I called back and asked to speak with hotel directly and again said I was willing to wait for them to be available. The woman refused to cancel my reservation. She said she HAS to transfer me to IHG because only they can cancel reservations.I let her know that somebody else at the front desk cancelled a reservation for me and she just continued to tell me that they were wrong and she has to transfer me. She actually completely ignored what I was saying and decided to tranfer me while I was talking. The next day when I called again I got the same lady and she wouldn't listen to me and said that the hotels policy was to transfer to reservations. I work for Holiday Inn and I have staff here who transfer guests to reservations when they are too lazy to take care of something else, so I felt I was being pushed aside by the staff. Also, even if it IS your policy to transfer, is it really worth making a guest angry instead of taking 2 minutes to help them personally when it is requested' The staff could really learn to be more polite and handle situations better without being angry to or in front of guests. It was a really bad start to my honeymoon.
