The Crowne Plaza Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port Hotel at the airport is the favored choice among cruise-goers, business travelers and event attendees, located less than one mile from Ft. Lauderdale Airport (FLL), Port Everglades and the Broward County Convention Center.

"Stay before a cruise"
The rooms are nice and the location is great due to it being near the airport and the cruise terminals. It is far enough away from the airport though so you don't hear the noise. I was not impressed with the restaurant in the hotel though. While it is convienent to have one there, the food was only so-so, in my opinion. And it seemed a little overpriced for what you get. Overall though, I would stay there again while waiting for my cruise. I just don't plan to eat at the restaurant.
"DO NOT BOOK!!"
I made this reservation months ago, I even called 2 weeks ago to double check our reservation was good to go. We were coming in town from Tennessee to get on a cruise ship the next day. When we pulled up, there was a sign saying they were closed. I called she said yes, we are closed due to no power from the storm last week. I completely understand that but what I don't understand is why they did not call or email me to let me know!! They offered to book me at a Crown Plaza 20 mins away but she "it is quite a bit more expensive". I said well for all the inconvenience can you give it to us for the rate I had' They said no. One of the customer service ladies even said "I don't even know why they didn't cancel all these cruises. Now is not the time to have tourists in the area". Worst customer service and they in no way fixed or tried to fix their mistake!! If there was a zero star button I would have went with that.
"Pre-Post Cruise Stay"
Prior to flying down to Florida, we inquired about shuttle services offered. We were told to just call as soon as our flight arrived and the bus would take no longer than 10 minutes to arrive. We flew in from Virginia and called. We confirmed the dispatch of the shuttle bus. So we waited. And waited. And waited. Two hours later, we took a cab. Our check in went well. When I brought up the problem with the shuttle bus, no one seemed to find it a big deal nor take responsibility for it. Not what I'm used to. Florida must really do business differently. The rate we chose included a breakfast buffet. I enjoyed the buffet but my children preferred ordering a la carte. What I found odd was that when they were with me, it was never an issue, however, when they were alone, they would be told they could ONLY get things from the buffet...even if they would pay for them. This happened on more than one occasion. On our trip back.... Mind you, everything was paid for two months in advance. I go to check in. I'm very tired. The lady at the front desk tells me that my reservation had been cancelled due to my card being declined. I got so embarrassed. (Although I could not see how this could happen. Because I knew I had a $45,000 credit limit on my card and I was no where near it.) But the way she said it.... I called my bank. My bank confirmed that they paid for the rooms. But at this point, I don't want to stay there. I left. Sad. This is the worst Crowne Plaza I've stayed at in my entire life. It's more of a nice motel at its best.
"Can anyone at the hotel advise when it will be up and running after the hurricane'"
I would really appreciate it if someone from the hotel could advise if you have any rough idea of when the hotel will be functioning as I have an event planned there 16-17 Oct and need to make arrangements now re advertising, speakers, delegates, flights etc. I've obviously not been able to get through to anyone and hone that someone here might be able to help from the hotel. Thank you in these very difficult times for you.
"Great Staff during Hurricane Irma !!"
The Staff at this Hotel were amazing, we initially booked 1 night but due to the Hurricane Irma we had to extend. Cris on the front desk was brilliant in helping sort this out with no problem. Through out my stay all staff were calm and professional with a full hotel on limited resources. I had dealings with Jenifer, Claudia, Tiffany and Charles, all of them sorted out any concerns/problems they were polite and very professional Would definitely stay here again.
