Stayed here with my mum as we were going to a concert at the Etihad stadium. Good location for this, was only about 1/2 hour to walk, and only a short walk to Spinningfields also. Very good value for money, and very impressed with the room. 2 double beds which were extremely comfortable, along with large bathroom with bath and shower, and all amenities you need. Very nice bar area you and the food menu looked although we didn't eat here. NCP car park is only across the road and residents of the hotel do get a discounted rate. Highly recommended.
Good location next to Victoria station/MEN arena. Rooms are very nice and kept very clean. Staff keep the room topped up with little bottles of good quality soaps and gels. Nice powerful shower with a separate bath. Comfy bed with a plug or USB charger next to the bed. They provide you with 2 bottles of a product called sleep spray. Its meant to aid sleep. Probably physiological but it seemed to help. It was a nice touch anyway and shows they go the extra mile. Restaurant was nice and quality of the food was good. Sea bass was very nice. Breakfast is what you would expect and couldn't fault it. Gym is small but it does its ok . Fresh towels, water and fruit on offer. If I'm being really picky I would say the only negatives for me were 1) Don't like the fact that they automatically add the gratuity to the bill. Embarrassing when you have to ask for it to be taken off each time as its a business visit and company pay. Know this is not unique to this hotel though. 2) Couple of times I was seated right next to another guest in the restaurant when there were plenty of other spaces. 3) Saw a couple of youths wondering the corridors. May be totally wrong but don't think they were guests. This could happen at any hotel but always worth reviewing security arrangements. Like I said though I was really happy with the stay. Ive stayed at other hotels within the vicinity in the same price bracket and the rooms here are the best.
"Great Modern Hotel"
Stayed in the Crown Plaza city Centre in Manchester for business for 3 nights. Great location it's a 5 minute walk to all the major shops and lots of eating/drinking places all around the hotel. No parking at the hotel but there is a NCP car park less than a 5 minute walk away. Rooms are very stylish and modern and beds are comfy. Bathroom was clean with separate shower from bath making it more spacious. All rooms have ironing boards/irons and tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Stayed here with my girlfriend to have a night away! Price on a saturday is expensive for very basic room! Found the beds not best and very uncomfortable and the room very average! Perfect for if your going to the MEM but I wouldn't pay the price again!!
"Back again for another business trip!"
I enjoy staying at this hotel. I elected to have an Executive Club room on the 8th floor so that I could have access to the Club Lounge. That means I was able to have a continental breakfast and also canapes and a glass of wine in the evening between 6pm and 8pm. I have given a rating of 4 on this occasion because it wasn't a perfect visit this time. Firstly I was given a key card for a particular room and when I got to the room there was someone else in the room! So I had to contact Reception and ask them to check the room. Eventually that got sorted and I got into a room. Next the remote control didn't work so I had to request some batteries from reception. The next morning my paper was missing and had been given to the room next door to mine. Then I found out my phone line in the room wasn't working. So some slight niggles on this particular visit.
