"Value value value"
Don't confuse my heading by concluding that value means cheap old hotel. This hotel is clean, wonderful rooms, well located by transit, and a 10 minute walk to Kensington palace! The only caution I have is that the beds and pillows were not great making it a hard sleep. But regardless of that ... I enjoyed this property.
"great choice in south kensington"
Stayed here for a week in November, 2017. This is less than a block from an Underground stop on the route to Heathrow. You are a short Underground ride from most attractions but this is great choice in the South Kensington area. The lobby and rooms appear to have been recently updated. The add-on breakfast is a great choice to get out the door quickly. Service very effective and helpful as well. Will definitely return here
"Hands Down the best place I have stayed in London"
I have been in and out of London about 10-15 times each year for the past 3 years, I have stayed in the IC on Park Lane, Home House, The Moxy, a couple of Holiday Inns, Marriott on PL. I have come back to the Crowne Plaza Kensington because of the Staff. It got to the point the day staff (Will) knew me by my name and welcomed me as I walked through the front door. They have always gone way beyond to help me, find me a new place to eat, schedule me a car or taxi. This week they have hit a new high in customer services. I had massive changes in my travel schedule and my dates that I was staying at CPK got all messed up. I sent and email explaining my problem not knowing what to expect. With in minutes of me sending my email I received a response from Myriam working out all the problems and setting up my new dates. All the hotels I have stayed at as I travel I have NEVER had someone resolve my hotel reservation as fast as Myriam did today. This is the reason I use this hotel for my company stay in London. A note to the management: Myriam is the type of employee that makes a company great!
"A Great Friendly Hotel in Fantastic Location"
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and now the only hotel I use when visiting London. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms very comfortable. The location of the hotel is great 10 mins walk from Harrods & 5 mins from the V&A
This is about the fifth time we have stayed here and every time gets gradually worse yet we keep using it as the location is the only plus side. Hence one star for that. Where do we start' After booking for a concert in London earlier in year we had to cancel due to the fact the concert was cancelled. They allowed us to cancel one day but were blackmailed into paying for a more expensive suite which we had to have or we would have lost the money. Greed comes to mind. This wasn't IHG but the greedy management at the hotel. On check in the staff member was poor and explained nothing regarding the hotel, facilities, level room, bar etc. Absolute terrible customer service skills and unwelcoming. We had a suite that was completely overpriced , cheaper at other IHG hotels. In fact the savoy would have worked out cheaper. Considering it was a suite, no waters provided and a very dangerous stairs. Someone will eventually hurt themselves on that. Along with that the shower was substandard and no drawers for clothes. Very plain for the price. We had included in the price a level lounge pass. Don't bother, snacks from Iceland along with a very poor selection of drinks. The service from the girl working there was even worse than reception. Luckily we were going out. On arriving back from our event they had left us some free drink tokens. Not much good at 12 at night. Next mornings breakfast to the room was even worse. Cold and poor quality food. As you can imagine nothing was eaten. Check out was the best service. They asked me to give the hotel a rating of which I gave '4' they took our drinks of the bill and asked me to rate it again. I said it's still a '4' and you are lucky you are getting that. As I said plus point great location. Other than that overpriced and poor quality. Last time we visit. I'm sure they won't mind that. The manager emailed me afterwards to ask if all was ok. I replied two weeks ago with the above. As I suspected no reply. There are much better hotels in London. Shame really as we are members of the IHG. Try the Docklands. It's much better value.
