"A pleasant hotel in a very convenient location"
The hotel is a modern 6-storey building located right in the middle of the Old Town. Design and infrastructure are within the best standards of the Doubletree hotel chain. I stayed in a suite with a view to the University, and everything was very functional and satisfactory; service was accurate and there was generous daily fill-up of coffee, tea, water and toiletries. Not all the room have however an external view, since some of them overlook the internal atrium of the hotel. Breakfast is satisfactory. Western customers will appreciate the availability of the New York Times newspaper at breakfast and the fact that the TV has information channels in varıous Western languages. International travellers will also appreciate the fact that the computers of the business centre have western keyboards and the Operating System is working in English, a lucky combination rarely to be found in Turkish hotels. The management willingly recognizes the commitments of the HHonors loyalty programme. Noise from traffic is not a problem, due to efficient acoustic insulation. Overall, it is a practical and pleasant hotel for business and tourism. At the time of my stay prices were in the norm. The hotel is in a prime location, in front of the University and a few steps away from the Beyazit square. Most of the tourist attractions of the old town are within walking distance, e.g.: Ayasofya, the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, the Topkapi Palace, the Suleymaniye Mosque, the Basilica cistern. Moving around is easy: tram T1, a backbone of the Istanbul public transport system, stops just in front of the hotel; this tram also leads to the Atatürk airport in about 40 minutes (with a change to Metro #2 at Zeitinburnu); lots of bus lines have their terminal in the nearing Beyazit square, where also a large taxi stand is. The area has top opportunities for shopping, and everything needed by a tourist is at hand.
"Couldn't be happier"
Excellent location: About a 30 second walk to the T1 tram that stops at most of the tourist points of interest and goes as far as Dolmabahçe Palace. A 5 minute walk to the Vezneciler M2 metro stop through a large shop and restaurant lined road. Also a 20 minute very pleasant stroll straight to Sultanahmet Square, on Divan Yolu Cd. which has tons of coffee shops, restaurants, ice cream shops, a Starbucks and also Sultan II. Mahmut Tomb you can visit. An entrance to the Grand Bazaar is 2 tram stops or a 5 minutes walk. The roads around the Doubletree are a lot of fun, even with many many sharp hills. It's filled with tons of shops selling everything you can imagine from ballgowns to tucked away tiny cafes and people frying fish or roasting chestnuts in street side stalls. Check in was smooth and easy. We were assisted by Ibrahim who had the All Day Wifi kit we ordered waiting and checking out was just as easy. The hotel happily kept our bags after we checked out and helped us get a taxi when we were ready to leave for the airport. Breakfast buffet: The food was good, excellent variety and different options of soups and sausages everyday. The staff are attentive and efficient. Chef was happy to make omelettes on request. Osman and Adam cleared tables promptly and brought tea or coffee the minute we sat down. Also the wood fired turkish pide was amazing. Room: Comfortable, clean and well equipped with hairdryer, many power points, iron and a USB compatible TV. Wifi: Good speed and signal throughout the hotel. Free with Hilton honors.
"Luxury hotel in downtown "
This nice hotel in downtown is central hotel near by old city where you can reach easily all the important locations of the old city like Mosques and historical edifications the only problem that I had here is the auto parks that is difficult to find.
Location wise this hotel is the BEST!! the tram is right in front of the hotel! We used this tram alot and also walked alot..everything is in walking distance if you willing to walk..using the tram the first stop from the hotel is the grand bazaar,2/3 more stops down you get the blue mosque,Hagia Sophia and Topkapı Palace, 2/3 stops from there you get the boats for the Bosphorus tour.
