La situación ideal para moverse por el centro de LondresComment of M. Maria Jose , Spain the 2016-11-02
We loved to stay at this hotel, mostly because of it`s location, only a minute walk from Victoria station and we even walked to the city centre a couple of times. Suprisingly quiet area and hotel!Comment of N. Marit Eikrem , Norway the 2014-11-18
"Should you expect the same quality based on brand name everywhere'"
I guess my review is more of a question than a statement about this hotel. I have come to expect a lot from Double Tree by Hilton during my travels in the US. However, this is my first stay in a Double Tree in Europe. I was disappointed pretty much from my first night at the hotel when the our room air conditioning did not seem to be working and the room came up very short of our expectations with regard to livability. I reported the issue with the air conditioning the next morning as we were leaving to go out. However, when we came back almost 12 hours later the same day, the issue was still not resolved. When I called the front desk to ask about the situation, they reported that their colleague had looked at the system and everything was fine even though the temperature could not be driven any lower than about 78 degrees Fahrenheit or 25 degrees Celsius. The night service man can to the room and hung out with us about 1.5 hours while he worked to resolve the problem. Some of the more irking issues were associated with the room itself and the service. They bathroom door is nothing but an ill fitting piece of glass that can not be locked. Which, for some situations, may be uncomfortable for more than single travelers. Storage in the room, which is an upgrade above their standard offering, is very limited, with very little in the way of closet or drawer space. At least one of the hotel's three elevators was out of service during our entire stay. This made the normal wait for the lifts a good bit longer than what you might like on vacation. And frequently, the elevator car would arrive at our elevation only to have the doors open to an already full car. When I asked about storing a couple of suitcases while we traveled for the weekend to Scotland, there was a big question mark in the face of the person working at reception. They did end up storing the bags for us, but it was not without a management discussion as to whether or not it was possible. Usually, this sort of thing is a no brainer at other places. So, with these comments and a few others, I may choose to stay elsewhere on my next trip to London. Certainly nothing screams come back to me here.
"Conveniently located close to transport, attractions & dining"
My wife & I stayed here in advance of a coach tour leaving from Victoria Coach station, just up the street & around the corner. The staff were friendly and accommodating; the rooms nicely furnished with a comfortable bed. Our room featured a normal walk-in tiled shower, unlike the handheld arrangements that are common in Europe. Located across from Victoria Station, there are multiple public transport options close by. Also, due to the location, numerous dining options are to be found close by.
"Great Experience at Double Tree Victoria Station, London"
I choose this hotel specifically because it was close to transportation and the Victoria Station Bus Terminal, and Double Tree did not disappoint us. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The Air Conditioning was easy to use and kept the room climate just where we liked it. The bed, pillows, and furniture looked good, felt good and smelled good. The hotel staff was very friendly and helped us find restaurants, activities and our bearings. Great job Double Tree, we'll be back.
We booked a family room. Unfortunately after a very long flight we were told we were being "upgraded". It wasn't but we had this fixed after a couple of requests the next day. Very easy location for tourists, short walk to Buckingham palace.
"Really Good Location"
Stayed a couple of days at the DoubleTree - Victoria. It is located across the street from the Victoria train and tube station. It is also close to theaters and good food places to eat. It's about a 10 minute walk away from Buckingham Palace. Check in staff was friendly and was easy. Of course we were offered a warm chocolate cookie and it was sure yummy! Our room was the standard size for a London hotel so no surprises. The room and bathroom were clean. The hotel offered free Wi-Fi and it worked fine. The room had coffee and tea but no microwave. There was a fridge but I don't know if it was full of stuff or empty. We had complementary breakfast and it was good. There were fresh breads and fruits along with a pancake maker and the usual British breakfast items. We didn't have dinner at the hotel restaurant as there were lots of restaurants to choose from near the hotel. If you are looking for a hotel with a good location to travel options and the sites, you can't go wrong with the Doubletree - Victoria.
