The hotel is very nice, plush and what you'd expect with Hilton connections. There is a car park but if getting free parking with your stay you need to be in the long stay car park from the start and then get the courtesy bus to the terminal and walk the few minutes to the hotel. You then get a form to hand in on exiting the long stat car park (to admin in the portacabin by the barriers) along with your ticket. A few suggestions - take a photo of the bus stand number near where your car is parked and store your car park ticket and hotel form in a place ready to have easy access to on your return.
"Very pleasant surprise"
I was very surprised how nice this hotel was. I wasn't expecting much being an 'airport' hotel and had no idea what to expect from the Double Tree brand of Hilton but such a nice surprise. Right next to the airport terminal, comfortable and well furnished room, excellent fitness facilities and good substantial breakfast. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly at breakfast. My only criticism was the Reception staff who need serious training in how to welcome customers with a sense of real hospitality and yes, a smile. You are in the hospitality industry!! The one that welcomed me came across as if they did'nt want to be there and had no sense of how to welcome people. Apart from that one criticism an excellent hotel.
"Pre flight stay"
Stayed here the night before an early flight. This hotel is only a 2 minute walk from departures. It is also a very individual hotel that could be anywhere with a nice restaurant and bar area. The food is delicious with plenty of choice I had the beef stroganoff. Rooms are large with upmarket fittings. You need to ask if you want a room with a bath as some only have showers.Staff are friendly and helpful and hotel prices are very reasonable compared to equivalent hotels at other airports e.g. Manchester and Edinburgh.
