This was a great hotel to stay but was extremely pricey for our purpose, we were looking for something close to Orlando hospital while we were waitibg for a family member to be released from the emergency room.
Arrival was good. Room was ready ahead of time. I did the online app set up so I was notified once my room was ready. I did not get the room I chose but that was ok. Ended up on the 15th floor. room smelled dank like the floor had been wet and the room had been closed up for weeks without air circulation. The air wasn't working to well either. I had to stand directly in front of the vent to feel what little air was coming out of it. This hotel had too many dogs. there were 5 dogs in the lobby at one time. Maybe due to hurricane Irma the displaced were there. I like the doubletree but I am not really sure if I would come back to this particular one.
"Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff"
Just a wonderful experience overall, skip the breakfast buffet. Lived the reception on Thursday evening. Nice location in downtown. Staff was so friendly and welcoming. Loved the complimentary snacks in the Hilton Honors room.
I stayed during Hurricane Irma, and the staff was just amazing. They went above and beyond on their duties. They handled the crowed professionally. I will definitely come back and stay here. I will recommend it to my friends and family. Kudos team doubletree. From the check in till the check out everyone was wonderful. The food was great many varieties to chose in the buffet.
"Our Hideout During Hurricane Irma"
I can't say enough about this hotel and its staff during Hurricane Irma. We were under mandatory evacuation in Miami, so we loaded up the car and drove 10 hours (yes, that's right, 10 hours) from Miami to Orlando and checked in to this hotel. They were so incredibly accommodating. They allowed pets per the FEMA rule and Governor Scott's request, and the entire hotel was filled with hurricane evacuees and their animals. They had buffets set up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so no one had to worry about not having meals during the peak of the hurricane. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and just so, so nice. I have to give a special shoutout to the fine folks in the restaurant who we really made friends with by the time it was overwith. There was one hiccup, which was that our room's window started leaking during the peak of the storm. They ended up moving us to another room at 11pm at night, which we really appreciated. Thank you so much, DoubleTree Downtown Orlando. I'd definitely ride out another hurricane in this hotel again, we never even lost power!!!! Thanks a million!
